  • Decided that I need to employ the 15 minute rule at the allotment and perhaps I won’t feel so overwhelmed by how much we need to do. Spent 2 stints bindweed and weed pulling. Watered all the greenhouses. About to leave the plot in a better state of mind.
    Frugalness so far
    1. Blackberries, grapes 🍇, 🍎, tomatoes 🍅, courgettes and our first 2 🥒 cucumbers harvested.

  • So very hard beanilou. In the end I had to have a sleep to get through the rest of the day. I don’t think it’s helped that I have eaten a lot of junk food this last week in the false hope the sugar would give me some energy. Woke up this morning feeling like rubbish. Need to focus on slowly building myself back up but accept back to full strength is not the same level as it used to be😒.
Took the youngest to the gym in the afternoon they seem to be enjoying it , so hopefully this will be an alternative to their physio routine. I think that I may have to go with them as altering the machines maybe beyond their capabilities but we’ll see.Yesterday I continued to reorganise the front room, a job that I thought would take half an hour 🤣🤣🤣. Really pleased with it so far. Got rid of a couple of books. Listened to several cds I’ve not listened to in ages, got rid of one I didn’t enjoy.
    Frugalness for the day.
    1. Free exercise over 10,000 steps.
    2. Veggies and fruit from the plot
    3. Wm,dw and car recharged on cheap electric tariff.

    jobs for today
    1. washing out
    2. finish front room (move book shelf, file paperwork and hoover)
    3. Walk miss giddychops
    4. Make savoury feta cheese cakes.
    5. Visit plot(water and continue to weed asparagus bed)
    6. Source new rumtoff jar as I broke mine this week.
    7. Buy glue and mend old rumtoff jar and use as planter.
    8. Help youngest move their clothes into new wardrobe once it’s built tonight
    9. hug family
    10. fill bird feeders
     think that’s enough for now

    What a lovely to-do list @ladybird1106!

Have you tried taking a bit of protein instead of carb-heavy snacks to boost your energy? I don't know if it's the answer but perhaps it will sustain you a little longer.

  • Thanks cherryfudge for the protein nudge. Even though we all know these things it takes someone else to prompt us. Had hummus for lunch and had a quick google to look at what else I eat since I’m a veggie.

We had family over yesterday and the eldest returned as they are going away with my sister( there is only a 9 year age gap between them). It was good to catch up with them all. BIL installed life360 on my sister, dad and my phone as he is getting very frail. He’s due to go away soon, whilst trying to keep him independent we are concerned about him, so this hopefully will help put our minds at ease a little.
     Frugalness for yesterday
    1.  Tea contained our potatoes.  Breakfast contained our blackberries . Snacks had our potatoes and courgettes in.
    2. Bought 4 reduced loaves 69p each
    3. Meal planned around what willcome off the plot this week
    4.  Used natures tumble drier.
    5.  Mum made veggie pie for me and her. Leftovers for tea tomorrow 😋🤤.
Right best get on with the day as it’s chockablock with stuff that needs doing
