I’m so sorry that the close person has added so much stress and misery to what was already a sad and difficult time. I hope that their behaviour is not interfering too much with your space to grieve for your dad. I’m glad Mr Ladybird has your back, even if it wouldn’t have been constructive in that moment.Sending you huge, but gentle hugs.

The plan for today ( going to dads ) is on hold as the youngest had to get off the bus as they felt ill. I’m quite pleased in a way as it gives me chance to focus on my own home and gives me some headspace. Lots to sort as I’ve sent countless days at dad’s sorting through stuff. I can pay funeral invoice over the phone. I’m the one who doesn’t work but has the money to pay. Being frugal has paid off in the instance.Right best go as the youngest has requested drugs( hope I’ve got yoghurt to crush them into) and a hug.

p.s just signed up for a co-op loyalty card as we are using our local one a lot more these days.

Forgot my purse when I went to the sm. Walked miss giddychops. Contacted solicitor regarding dads will, just need a copy of death certificate and a photo of my drivers license. We already have a copy but decided to get official copies and check that another hasn’t been made.Slowly making headway in our room, having to keep having regular breaks as my energy levels are low, but the thought of sleeping in chaos is too much. It’s so far taken 2 hours and needs another hour before I can walk away.

It’s good you got a day off (sort of): I hope it’s helped. Also hope youngest is better.
interestingly I have just reactivated my Coop card and saved a couple of ££ on my first shop but it’s different from the loyalty cards I use most so I’m not au fait with getting the most from it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Discovered this morning that our payment for house insurance hadn’t gone through at the beginning of the month, when I picked up a random piece of paper I was about to recycle 🥺. Quick phone call and they honoured the renewal price even though I’m almost 3 weeks late paying.Youngest still not well , so all plans for today are cancelled. I’m secretly glad as I’m peopled out. Although I am disappointed that I’ve missed my aunt’s charity coffee morning. Must remember to text later to find out how much she has raised.OH brought me a lovely bunch of cosmos from the plot yesterday along with potatoes, apples, pears, tomatoes, grapes and more cucumbers. Will roast the tomatoes, crumble the apples and decide what to do with the cucumber mountain.
Need to do more house work today. Hoping to get more done than yesterday, energy levels permitting. Might start my Chr@€#*s cakes.
Yep that's what I’ll do now.

Thank you dfw321. Step 1 of the cakes are done. Fruit steeping in brandy that I brought back from dad’s. I had pizza for elevenses to make space in the freezer( honest). It wasn’t a good one, when will I learn that shop bought pizzas are not good.Made a huge salad for tea but disappointingly it only absorbed 1 cucumber. Made a honey and mustard dressing for a change. We’ll see if it is good as the one I usually make.
Other than that not a lot happened today.

Honey and mustard dressing will not repeated especially on that type of salad. Apple crumble was good though.
Managed to list several pairs of dad’s boots that he’d hardly worn. House is relatively tidy and has managed to absorb most of what I’ve brought back from dads. Will bring some more stuff today. Think we will have to hire a van for some of the bigger stuff. Hopefully we will sort out the Welsh dresser, notify the government, sort through some paperwork and clear the under the stairs space of doom today.
Looks like the weather is going to be pants here , so best put washing in spare room to dry.Best get a wriggle on, as got to be there by 10
