Yes your right cherryfudge it was not something I had considered. The other reason I was going to delete my chat was to try and protect their mental health as my dad said a few unpleasant things about them. Some justified and a lot not ,which often made me ring him and have words with him. However over the last couple of days things have come to light that my care is not reciprocated and I am battling with been annoyed that my mental health was not took into consideration these last couple of years (something that could of been avoided) and my protective sister role. Went to see bf and vented about inconsiderate people. Felt a lot better and hopefully will be able to move on.I’ve been to the bank and all outgoing transactions have been stopped. Because there is less than £50,000 in the account we don’t need probate. Contacted home insurance who are getting their bereavement team to contact me to take over payments. Like I have an endless supply of money. Can’t sleep because of the great medal fiasco.

This sounds turgid and tiring and like you are surrounded by idiots ….
Could you escape for a couple of hours today to the allotment to get some air and light?
Hugs x

Family politics can be so difficult. I think it's quite common for one member of the family to bear the brunt of caring for older parents, and that in itself causes problems even when other siblings are unable to do much to help, but more so when they could but don't, or the carer is just overwhelmed. I do feel for you as I was the main carer for my Mum.
Thank goodness for a good friend to listen to you when you needed it! And it's good you don't have to think about probate, that must be a weight off your mind.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

So sorry to read all this, you really don’t need the added stress. The more I read about all the excess stuff most of us have the more it re inspires me to declutter more a la swedish death cleaning .When my parents go I will have a huge job on my handsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

We did try to encourage him LWAP, to declutter a few years ago when he first became ill, but his response was get a skip. There is not a skip big enough to cope with the amount of stuff there is . It has made me seriously consider what I’m bringing back to my own home. It has to be useful, in one piece and not a dust gatherer. We are asking other people if they need things and passing them on. Hopefully, we can start taking stuff to the tip, charity shop or sell it now we’ve been through everything. The house is in utter chaos . We are getting a house clearance company in for the big pieces of furniture and dust gatherers.Thank you KK your words made me well up and boosted my wellbeing. Both gluten free and bellyache inducing Christmas cakes are made. Just need to find the brandy to make them continuously drunk 🥴 .
The youngest is ill again and is now on antibiotics.Love 🐞

The situation with Mum's house was similar - perhaps a skip, while not solving everything, would enable a bit more space to work in?
I'm sorry your youngest is poorly again. I know there are lurgies going round again and perhaps when we get a frost they will lessen, but it's miserable in the meantime. Make sure you look after yourself where you can - enough fluids, healthy food, light, heat... Christmas cakes sound good though. Thanks for the reminder. I could do mine soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I’ve hit a wall mentally today, still in bed. I really need to get up and do something but the 2 times I got up I was back within 20 minutes. Unable to sleep, so listened to some podcasts instead. OH has gone to the plot, so the house is nice and quiet. Think I will get up and potter.

Sometimes you need a duvet day. Is the sun out in your neck of the woods? If not, it may be on its way, which could make things easier. I think the staying in bed is probably your subconscious saying you need time out so no guilt pangs, you've been told that's what's right for you.
Once you're ready to potter, that's okay too.
How is youngest? They weren't too well the other day, were they?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
