Thanks dfw. Yes there is still lots to do in the house and there is still 3 large sheds to empty kk.
Today was a day at home, time to relax 🤣.
    Frugalness for today.
    1. Free exercise via miss giddychops, the plot and yoga 🧘‍♀️
    2. Miss giddychops tea was courtesy of dad (free)
    3. Used natures tumble dryer.
    4. Harvested 🎃, 🍐 , 🥬 , courgettes and 🍎
    5. Meal plan made
    6. Heated blanket on instead of heating.
    7. Looks like we are keeping the lightweight cordless hoover as the youngest is able to use it.They decided to hoover the top floor of house. Totally amazed they can actually do this. They will become totally obsessed with it until they’ve perfected their technique.☺️
    8. Lunch was the last of the leftover soup and tea contained potatoes and cabbage from the plot. Cider homemade.
    9. Shopping bill was £76.79 hopefully this is it till next weekend.

Glad you had a day off and good luck with the sheds!

I am smiling at the thought of the youngest revelling in the learning of vacuuming … 😊

    Frugalness for yesterday
    1. Due to all the food we are harvesting and it covering multiple surfaces throughout the house whilst either drying, waiting to wrapped in newspaper, ripening or waiting to be processed, we are struggling to use kitchen worktops for actually making food. We remembered that we had rescued some shelving that my sister was going to throw out when she moved. OH put it up whilst I made tea and is now full of produce. Need to find the other one for apples. So pleased with this

  • All that produce sounds amazing. I would love to grow that much!

My DS2 is obsessed with hoovers. He has been since he was tiny. Some kids obsess over dinosaurs or whatever, my son it was electrical items, the hoover being his fave! We went to a museum where there was old ones on show and he cried when I tried to take him away from them  He still hoovers his room daily pretty much, i wish DD was more like it!

Hope you are feeling better soon, stress is probably coming out in a physical illness. Let yourself rest as much as you are able over the next week

  • Sore throat and a croaky voice this morning. Definitely frazzled as made a major !!!!!! up yesterday at the optician. They asked if we get benefits, we get universal credit, ooooo you get a voucher off . Me ok, sign but they didn’t show me the screen, paid . Woke up at 5am this morning remembering we do get it but we are over the threshold for help with anything relating to NHS prescriptions etc. Checked website this morning and I was right. Phoned VE croaked my way through what had happened and explained about dad passing and it’s his funeral in 2 days. Paid the balance, they will contact NHS to retract vouchers.  Why do I still feel like a tea leaf even though I know it was a mistake on my side plus they didn’t show me the screen which would have prompted me  and I’ve paid the balance. Think I might need to do a Covid test.

I would have thought they should have checked rather than assuming you were in the right category, ladybird. Certainly with your Dad's funeral coming and this lurgy looming, I think you get bonus points for not only remembering about the threshold but taking prompt steps to put it right.

Everything seems to happen at once, doesn't it?  :'(

And whether it's Covid or not (and there are other autumnal things doing the rounds), try to do the minimum today apart from looking after yourself and trying to get some rest. I hope it soon passes.

I think you are being very hard on yourself. You were offered a saving which had specific conditions. Those conditions were not made clear to you. You remembered ON YOUR OWN that it might not be valid for you. You checked and corrected the error immediately. That to me speaks of the motivation and actions of an ethical person, NOT that of a thief.

I hope the Covid test is negative and you feel better soon. Sending hugs x
