  • Thanks cherryfudge and kk.
Not sure what happened yesterday, bit of a blur. So moving onto today. Still feeling quite ropey, hopefully after tomorrow I should begin to feel better.
    Frugalness so far
    1. Cut the lids of the 2 giant suitcases I brought back from dads. They wouldn’t fit under the bed otherwise.Cleaned them up and will use them to store clean bedding in.

Hope you are soon on the road back to health ladybird. Suitcases as underbed storage is a good idea: and how often does one need a gigantic suitcase? I don't think I've ever needed one for travel! Would make great storage though.

I get the 'feeling so much lighter'. Good that you were able to have a service he would have appreciated, and good too that the dog has a new home. It will be poignant for your sister but perhaps she could dog sit sometimes for the new owner?

Yes, time to start this next stage and let the memories settle. ((Hugs))

P.S. I hope your lurgy has eased?

  • Feeling a lot better thank you everyone. Unfortunately the youngest is ill yet again. Really need to get their Covid injection sorted.
Met up with mum to dissect yesterday. I was hoping that Dobby’s had reduced their seeds but alas no such luck. £5.25 on drinks. Managed to get dad’s original will sent off by record delivery, bil card sent overseas and dad’s boots that I sold via Vinted sent also.
    Frugalness for today
    1.  Used natures tumble dryer.
    2. Used up another bottle of oil from dad’s.
    3. Washed and dried the tea towels and bath towels I brought back from dad’s. These will replace a couple of really tatty towels.
    4.  Gave mum the keys for dads , she will go feed his fish , so save me the journey and petrol this up and coming week.
    5. Eaten potatoes, apples and pears from the allotment
    6. Sold a pair of dad’s boots on Vinted.

Plan for tomorrow is to take the rest of the stuff for the eldest from dads. Offered to take mil with me as she’s not seen where eldest lives.

  • Eldests is not happening, well for me anyway . Dreadful night sleep because of TOM and very tender due to LS. OH has been the rock and gone instead. So meal plan done, shopping list done, job list done. Nothing too strenuous or mentally taxing, just stuff I can dip in and out of throughout the day. If they don’t get done they can just rollover till tomorrow.

Be gentle with yourself. You’ve had a lot on lately and it sounds like it’s catching up with you now that the funeral is finally done. Sending gentle hugs x
