You can use HSBC branches or a post office to pay in cash or cheques or pay in cheques with the First Direct app. Most banks including Starling have those options so you don't need a branch really.

I've banked with pretty much all of the high street banks over the last year or two along with some of the challenger banks and a pretty large chunk of Britain's building societies and I'd quite happily bank with any of them. Each have their own quirks and each have things I like/dislike about them, there are some I like more than others but there are none that really stand out as being exceptionally good. I just base my banking affairs on how I can get the most money out of the banks so just use multiple accounts for whichever perks they're offering me at the time.tiger135 said:first direct looks good also , do they use hsbc branches or are they online only? santander has a few branches near me.
Personally I'll carry on using Nationwide for now since I have an 8% and a 5.5% regular saver with them plus a £2.5k arranged OD facility (useful when writing cheques). I'll also carry on using Santander as I have their 5.2% EA account and 7% edge saver. I have a 7% regular saver with First Direct plus a £500 OD facility so I'll continue to bank with them for this reason. The list goes on.5 -

It wasn't me who asked but my curiosity is piqued. Does the pacman-2d house / sunset-3d house look more like a sunset-3d house on printed stationery?EarthBoy said:

No, it looks exactly the same as it does everywhere else.0

Nationwide (formerly Nationwide Anglia) launched the original FlexAccount around 1986/87. Also, the word 'Flexi' has been used as a prefix for various savings accounts, over the years. I can't see them dropping the 'Flex' prefix for current accounts, anytime soon.boingy said:And as for the "Flex" thing I wish they would just drop it rather than sticking it at the beginning of most account names.
My app shows:
FlexDirect Account
FlexAccount
Flex Regular Saver Issue 2
Flex Instant Saver 20
