Nationwide rebranding

It's bizarre isn't it. I'm not sure what they are trying to achieve by copying NatWest so closely. It's a shame they don't take the same approach with the features of their terrible app.1

I don't ever recall hearing about a Nationwide rebrand. It's gone completely over the top of my head and a great number of others I suspect. What a total waste of money. Mind you I couldn't care less what they spend their money on, I'm more interested in their interest rates. If the interest rates on offer aren't competitive I don't give them a second look. Nationwide are not high on my list of those I aspire to save/invest in. The only good thing about Nationwide that I can think of is that they do have a branch on my high street so at least it's another shop that isn't sitting empty........doesn't say much for Nationwide does it.0

I kept the NatWest app since I had a Regular Saver with them and the new Nationwide look has made it very confusing when I want to choose between the 2 banks. Not a great new image in my opinion.0 -
I am genuinely interested to know what you find deficient in the Nationwide app compared with say the NatWest app0

No transaction notifications
No spaces to segregate money
No way of seeing card details
No pin reminder
No card controls
No split the bill feature
No feature to see transactions on a map
New accounts take several days to show up
No cheque pay in feature
No spending analysis
Not all banks offer all those features but NationWest have none at all. For a long established brand to make so little effort is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if their systems ran on Commodore 64s

You forgot:
No references for any payments, neither incoming nor outgoing.
Nationwide made a big thing recently about now being able to change the reference when you send a payment. They conveniently omitted to tell anybody that the reference doesn't show on your transaction history, so you've no record of the reference you used.0 -
There's so much wrong with it that it's hard to remember it all!2

I think nationwide are ok for bank statements! But hope with the rebrand they change it up a bit! To make them better
our local branch has got the new logo0 -
thanks for the list - just goes to show that different people like different features of banking apps
I have no use for notifications, spending on a map or pots
over the years I have opened and closed many Nationwide accounts and they have all appeared pretty much instantly or at the latest the following day after overnight refresh
what I do like about the nationwide app is that you can see statements on the app without having to download a PDF.0 -
I've just received my replacement FlexAccount debit card and noticed that it doesn't says 'Building Society' anywhere on it like all previous incarnations since the 90s.
So if they demutualised, after say absorbing a medium sized clearing bank, they wouldn't even need to issue fresh payment cards...0
