For people interested in branding there is a whole thread on the monzo boards somewhere dedicated to bank branding and their cards!

WAAA WAAAA WAAAA! is my reaction......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Everything feels a little disorganised. My god that TV ad, to think a "bank or building society" approved the creative is shocking.

I was informed that they could not do this as they were a building society, not a bank. Although they could set up a bill payment through phone or online banking.
They do have their own range of sort codes though (and did back in 2008 too), whereas Skipton uses Barclays sort codes.1 -
i really hate this new logo, the colours the lower case, the pacman, i am actually going to leave nationwide now.
I tried.to set up a virgin account using their app but it keeps crashing at the stage of doing the text verification.
so its goodbye nationwide from me!
may be an overreaction, but this change makes no sense.0 -

I just feel its a huge waste of money that could be spent more wisely elsewhere and that it is ordinary at best......
And the ad is downright terrible!4 -

may be an overreaction, but this change makes no sense.I've had nothing but trouble with the Virgin credit card app. For a couple.of years it would say "there has been a problem" every other time I tried to use it and I'd have to restart my phone to make it work. For the.last few months it hasn't worked at all and restarting the phone and reinstalling the app multiple times had no effect. I have a Pixel 6 which is a common decent phone with the latest updates so there should be no problem, I've never had that sort of problem with any other banks apps.I'm not very keen on NationWest's branding but in itself that wouldn't put me off using them, however they are hopelessly old fashioned, especially their app, and I could never use them for a current account.1 -
so im thinking now to use santander or monzo/starling. im not sure i want to be app only though.0

Santander offers cashback on bills on some accounts, the app was quite basic when I used it but worked very reliably. You don't need to restrict yourself to one though.
