In my best *puffed out* voice, Hello!
I'm here Haribo, sorry I've been awol:rotfl: You only want the abbreviated version, which is 2 days spent at my Dad's, return journey was 200 miles in freezing fog, total nightmare and absolutely terrifying at times:eek: Then other family *issues* , presents unbought, rotten cold, now horrible cough:D I've been rushing around so much I'm sure I met myself coming back:rotfl:
Big congrats to ivyleaf and dorry:T :T :j Beautiful granddaughters, and both with such lovely names:D
CRANKY, I don't think anyone's answered your question about birthdays? If they have I'm sorry, I have read very quickly:o Anyway, when you first go to *forum* where it lists all the boards, if you scroll down to the bottom there's a panel that says something like welcome to our newest member..... and I think it's below that, today's birthdays. Of course you only get a mention if you've put your birthday in your profile:D On which note, it's a little late but Happy Birthday catowen!!!!!! Hope you've had a lovely day:D
Hoping all those feeling poorly start to feel better soon.
:xmassign: :xmastree: :snow_grin Happy Christmas to all, and very best wishes for a wonderful New Year to everybody!!!! (Just in case I don't get on again before Christmas)

You'll be [strike]terrified flattered [/strike]pleased to know you have just been the cause of a simultaneous scream on either side of the Irish sea.:D
I was on the phone to Pink and we were discussing all the gruesome ways you may have met a sticky end when she spotted your post. Cue the scream. :rotfl::rolleyes:
Please submit a note to Pink next time you go awol after a long car journey.
Sorry to hear about "the issues".
We've had a lovely day. I'm just out of the bath and am still vegging.
I love Christmas. :snow_laug

Hi people
Anyone mind if I veg out over here for a while?
It's my daughter's 2nd birthday tomorrow and we are having a quiet one. The cake is already made (a homemade Igglepiggle chocolate cake). Thats about the only change. That and the presents that she won't understand why she is getting them... and will be overwhelmed tomorrow when she gets more from family... and then close family ones i.e. mine and her nana's on Boxing Day, or thats the plan so far. We'll see how it goes
Merry Christmas to you allI saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
Welcome Ophie, veg out all you like:D
I take it that's you and your daughter in your avatar? She's lovely. Hope she has a brilliant day tomorrow. My friend's daughter is 7 tomorrow, can't believe it's been that many years.

Good evening everyone,
THANK YOU for all my happy birthday messages, it really has made my day!!! also Happy Birthday to Miss mean marie - she has a year on me, im 36 today:eek: !!! Still think im 21 tho:rolleyes:
We have had a lovely day, children woke me up with a lovely sing song of Happy Birthday, and some presents - so i now have some lovely new slippers and a copy of 'Atonement' to read.
We then went to a Wetherspoons for lunch, and the chappie behind the bar gave DS a fruit bag (DD got one with her childs meal) and also a chocolate muffin each for free. After lunch we went to the cinema and saw Enchanted, it was very good, we all enjoyed it, although DS did say it wasnt his favourite, and i must admit, im not surprised, it was a more girly film.
Then, once we got home my friend and her family came round for dinner, so we opened a bottle of wine, had some nibbles and a good chat - she also bought a chocolate cake and we had a very loud rendition of 'happy birthday' and lots of candles for me to blow out - as they went past the smoke alarm it went off = so now i feel old!!!
Im now catching up on here, and DD and i are watching top gear - they have just shown a 'travel rabbit' which made me laugh out loud (yes, think Ann Summers!!! ) and DD asked what it was, i still havnt answered!!!:o
Anyway, thank you all for your wishes and hope everyone is well (also thank you to ageandjo for not mentioning the football score from yesterday!!!)
((HUGS)) to all who are poorly or who have poorly ones in their family xxx
Have a lovely evening, Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Enjoy you evening xx0 -
Evening everybody:santa2:
I've only read the last 2 posts I'm afraid, so welcome to Ophie, my nephew is 6 tomorrow and is in a state of extreme excitedness at the moment. So, enjoy the relative calm before your dd gets older and the madness of a birthday combined with Christmas hits you.
Happy birthday Catowen:bdaycake:
I'm waiting for 8.30 when my kids will all be upstairs though not necessarily in bed. A bottle of wine is waiting plus some chocolate I believe. Not sure what film we're going to watch, we've watched all our Christmassy ones except It's A Wonderful Life which we save for Christmas Eve. Might dig out Bridget Jones.
Well, today I have collected my goose from the farm, made 4 loaves of bread and 2 rounds of shortbread. Tomorrow is a busy day in the kitchen. First I have to make copious amounts of sausage rolls, then giblet stock, stuffing and salads (for Christmas day supper). Then, there's fruit salad to make, syllabub to begin, spuds, carrots and parsnips to peel and red cabbage to braise to eat with baked gammon tomorrow evening and again with the goose.
I also want to delegate someone to the task of cleaning the loos and feeding the washing machine. I think lunch tomorrow will have to be cheese on toast.
Feeling very Christmassy now...jingle jingle:xmassign:0
