    Morning All

    Happy Birthday Catowen.

Get Well soon to all the Littlies and biggies as well.

I thought I was done but have just realised that I've forgotten the cheese for the cauliflower cheese for tomorrows tea, think I will try and get it from the Spar.

Plans for the day is preparation and baking . I'm going to get the ham on in a minute and then get the turkey out of the freezer. DH and DD are both desperate to get a new cat so they want to go to the rescue place later on so hopefully we could get checked out with them between xmas and new year don't know if we will have a time but its a nice idea.

    Have a good day everyone

Morning all.......for the second time............... (((((((((hugs)))))))) to anyone who needs them, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the birthday girls!!!!

Went back to bed around 4.30. OH was in a deep sleep, so still, I managed to sleep until 9am. Just been down and put the sheets in the laundry and have the gammon joint in the pressure cooker, I do it for 20 minutes and then take off the rind, score it and coat it with a mixture of brown sugar and mustard, then finish it off in the romuska.

Expecting DD and GGD sometime today with pressies, thats the last of them going to thier destination, so come on Christmas, I am ready.

This is the first year I have not made mince pies, the sheltered housing officer gave me 3 dozen for the party last week, I only used a dozen, tried to give the rest away, but no luck..........so we will eat them. I have a jar of mincemeat incase we run out, but OH does not seem to have the same appitite for them he used to have.

I made an oroange jelly yesterday, so that pudd taken care of for 2 nights, will start the trifle tomorrow....................

We are having some of the ham tonight with roasters veg and mustard sauce.

Its a horrible day, very misty and damp, does not seem to be lifting.

I have cracked the disappearing posts, I start the post off and send it, then edit and add what ever else I need to say, it works!!!!!

Right off for a coffee. I hope those of you who have sick little ones or who are sick themselves feel better soon. Touch wood, I seem to be ok, its usually me who goes down with something just before Christmas........the last two Christmases were horredous......

I'm back again :D I'm properly awake now, just had a lovely hot shower - and no-one banged on the door to say 'will you be long? I need a shower/to clean my teeth/to have a wee'

    Happy Birthday Cat :bdaycake:

    Congratulations Ivyleaf :j :T

I bought little bits and pieces for master tru's girlfriend, I've just decided they'd be better in a stocking so I've dug out some red felt and I'll get sewing in a mo. The ham is almost defrosted, I wish it'd hurry up, it'll take 5 and a half hours to cook

    Hope you're behaving PP :D

    Morning all

Hugs to all those poorly ones - hope you're all feeling better soon.

Happy birthday Cat - hope you have a lovely day - fil's b/day today too so we're off there for a proper birthday tea later.

Very organised here for a change - although I think that's something to do with me throwing all the toys out of my pram on Friday and having a good cry and rant at how little help or thanks I'm being given.......just hope it lasts now they've all worked out how to work the hoover and pick their dirty socks up!

Gammon is soaking ready for roasting tomorrow, beef and turkey are defrosting in the conservatory (lovely to have a cold room like that) We've made some butter with orange, lemon and lime zest in for the turkey as we saw on Jamie Oliver the other evening - looked lovely so thought we'd try something different this year.

Had to pop to the shops yesterday for veg, milk and cream etc and was shocked at how christmas seems to have finished in most of the places - no decs or lights left in Homebase, no gift sets in Asda, easter eggs on the shelves in Woolies.....did I miss something??

Off to the inlaws later for birthday tea for FIL, made him a haribo fizzy jelly as he's a real sweet tooth junkie and got him a lovely book (in the pound shop but marked £17.99) and a bottle of his fav rioja (given to DH from someone at work)....a very moneysaving birthday pressie! Need to pop to argos on route and pick up a pressie that my mum wants for my dad, as she's a non drive she's not been able to get out to pick him anything up without him being around....why she had to leave it to the last minute to ask me to help is beyond me though!

We were all up early this morning so we've been for a lovely muddy walk along the cliffs and came back to eat choccy biccies whilst doing some glass painting (last minute gift idea for grandparents).

Hope you all have a great Christmas and everything goes just as planned.

    Hello all,

Yesterdays theme continued and I spent most of the day crying. OH said he is annoyed at the house being a mess all the time . Stop whinging and tidy it up then if it bothers you so much!!!
What really gets me - the house is messy because I've been at work, so I get moaned at for that. If I don't work and stay at home to tidy the house, he panics about money. I can't win .

Guests did not come over last night as their LO got sick, are coming over tonight instead. Today is going better so far :)

We went into Somerfield yesterday and it wasn't busy at all. Then we went into Morrisons and were almost trampled by the masses. Oh yeh - OH got *loads* of stock recalled in Morrisons - all their Xmas party food has got 'Freezeable' written on it, but had clearly been frozen before, so he kicked up a huge fuss and the whole lot got taken off the shelf :rotfl:

Hope you all had a good day

Edit: Pooky yes, Christmas is over and done with in the shops (well it started in October!!!). I went into a store on Friday and asked where the Xmas decs were. The assistant smirked and said 'I'm afraid we've sold out, most people do their decorating *before* December 21st'..."Actually, I think you'll find I'm shopping for next year...I suppose that's too forward thinking for your store' :)

Aussie....Gin is a preservative too so I'd bung some of that in. Pink swears by it ;) What's my prize? :D
Churchie....This is ridiculous. Where are you?  :p
Amie...My breakfast on Christmas day is usually a bar of fruit and nut and half a chocolate orange. :D

I've had a really lazy morning. :o Vegged out on the sofa with the girls. :D
Out this afternoon to our friends salmon smokery to pick up the salmon for Tuesday. Then I need to ice the cake. Sausage and mash for tea and more vegging out on the cards. :D

So far I have wrappd 2 presents, made a banana cake, swept and mopped the porch/hall/stairs and put dinner in the oven. Oh I had a shower as well.

Just having 5 minutes on here, then will go and do the washing up and sweep/mop the kitchen floor. Think I will get OH to sweep the living room when he gets back. Then he can have a shower, I will swish the bathroom and our guests ahould arrive by then. I have to wrap their presents too, will go and do that now.
