Pam - thanks so much; that is really encouraging! Hopefully, yesterday was my worse day. I remember you said you felt like passing out (?) - I was glad I didn't have to go anywhere because I felt like that at home but at least I could just sit down when it happened. I hope you are really over your lurgy now! I can't believe how moany and self-pitying I was yesterday - a proper little madam!

morning everyone.
just done my Next VIP shop. ordered some shoes and boots for me, some tops for me, jeans for me, bras for me (notice a pattern!) was determined to spoil myself usually end up getting for everyone else....I did buy a rug for the hall, which I almost ordered a few days ago at full price (phew!). ordered it before (And sent it back) it is nice but it didnt fit with our old door. now we have had a new front door which is set much higher it will be fine.
today I am going to get washing and ironing up to date. yesterday bought all the food for the next week, all the presents are wrapped. two stragglers still to come.
So am feeling quite relaxed about it all.x x x0 -
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is yooooooouuuuuuuuu
:xmastree:
To everyone I know - DO NOT ask me to do anything for you today. If you ring, I'll put the phone down. If you knock on my door, I'll hit you with my big heavy rolling pinI'm not leaving the house again til at least the day after Boxing day. So there
Morning all :hello:
Miss tru's eyes have been watering a bit lately, so I told her to give me her work hours for the next couple of weeks and I'll fit in an optician's appointment around work. But yesterday her boss ordered her out of work and into Specsaver's - she was on the till and her eyes started streaming, and she had a black spot in her right eye too. They tested her straight away, she needs glasses and was told to stay off the till (computer flat screen thingy) until she's wearing them. She likes wearing glasses, she needed them when she was little and was very disappointed when she grew out of the problem (I can't remember whether she was long or short sighted - bad bad mum).
I still have to wrap all the presents, I haven't touched the ironing and I forgot to take the ham out of the freezer on friday  I took it out yesterday, it's huge and I need to cook it today. There's no way it's going to defrost in time, I'll have to cook it overnight tonight and hope it's OK in the morning
I'm going to make myself a hot chocolate. Do you think it's too early to put a bacardi in it? :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
Morning all!
OH left for work at 7:30 and I had a rough nights sleep so I decided to get up after he left.
Going to attempt a few things today-cleaning the bathroom, kitchen and some hoovering-I'm not bothered about finishing it all today though as I can do some tomorrow morning. I also have bedsheets to change and *lots* of clothes to fold! Slowly but surely as I've been very tired the past few days.
OH and I watched 'I am Legend' last night, it was great. Was very tempted to see 'Nightmare Before Christmas' in 3D, but tickets were sold out-OH and I are big fans.
Have a good day everyone, and PenPen I've never had Malibu with tonic, I usually have it with orange juice and some people have it with cola!

Good morning everyone,
Catowen Happy Birthday :bdaycake:
Bit cooler today. It's even downright chilly. Rain has arrived. They are forecasting it for Christmas Day which is good. At least it will be cooler and you feel like doing your lunch & tea justice. When it's so hot you're just not hungry. Well I'm not. Got everything on my list done that I wanted to get done today. There is some really good shows on telly tonight which I've booked to watch.
So I'm going to have a shower in a minute and settle down with my knitting .
Mrs Mix :santa2:
PPincher Oh Ok. Your DD must be interested in reading the Daily & the Benefits boards early in the morning.
<hugs> to all those feeling sick & who have sick children. I really hope they feel good on Christmas Day. I can imagine how awful it would be to feel off colour that day.
Question: I have made elderflower cordial which is lovely btw. I've never tried it before. I have put the bottles in the freezer & one in the fridge. It's quite ok atm to do that as I have freezer space & it made only 4 bottles but when the tree gets bigger I imagine I will be making more. Can I store the bottles in the pantry remembering our climate is a lot hotter. The recipe has citric acid in it. That would be the preservative. The first correct answer gets a prize.
Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
PenPen - eeeeeeeeeeeew - malibu and tonic  normal people have it with pineapple juice and it's lush. Tru go ahead - at this time of year it's never too early for alcohol. hmm it looks like the OS board is turning to drink
We ussually have scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and bagels for xmas brekkie but this year I'm not sure who's going to b here for breakfst so we're having a continental breakfast of croisants, cheese and cold meats which I can leave out for a bit for late arrivals. dd18 lives about a 10 minute walk from me and hasn't decided yet if she wants xmas am alone with her son first.
dd18 has texted me the argos number of a bracelet that she wants from dgs3 so I'm pcking him up later to go shopping. I will let him choose something himself as well. I must get something for dd22's bf, dd18s friend, who's a bit of a surrogate dd to me and exoh. I wasn't going to bother with the last but he is bringing something for me apparantly.
Have a brilliant day Catowen - if i had a bday this time of year I woud ask for a Slave For The Day
hugs to the poorlies and those missing loved ones

Morning allHappy birthday Catowen!!!OH is poorly with this cold thing that's going around and I have woken up feeling like what DLB sounds but I only had one glass of wine!Has anyone looked on the grabbit board at the gammons in tescos?? Well I can confirm it works in my local tescos - we got 6 joints totaling £129.34 absolutly FREE!!!!!!!!!!Redruby - nip to our local tescos and grab some, make sure you look at the picture on the thread to get the right joint otherewise it won't work, so I have been giving the gammons to other people less fortunate than us and kept a couple to pop in the freezer.Today is cleaning wrapping and nipping to the cemetry to take some flowers just in case I don't get time tomorrow.Have a good day and keep warm0

Back again - Dogrose you did well, didnt see anything for me and no jeans for ds - however I did order a steam generator iron for £50 reduced from £100 - have wanted one for a while but they were too expensive. I suppose its for me but not exactly a treat - oh well just imagining speeding through the ironing in 2008........(hmm - still not very likely)0

Morning all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATOWEN
AMIE I've gone to Asda twice and left my purse behind. It's just so embarrassing.
MOLIERE I know what you mean about your old man. Mine's the same. It's like if I'm not firing on all cylinders he just doesn't cope. However, it doesn't help that he's a hoarder and continues to do things like not make the bed when he gets out of it that really winds me up!
Bread is in BM. Off to work at 1pm, last shift before Xmas. Need to do some ironing before I go and write out my essay plan. Although it doesn't have to be in until 4th Jan I have to post it by the 2nd and of course DS is off.
Have a good day everyone and hopefully people will feel better soon.
:A xxxx
By the way Xmas morning we'll be having smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Dare say DS will just have chocolate like he did last year!0
