Bazza, I was similar to you when I started, couldn't bear to look at how much my weight was in stone because I knew and understood that better. Once I started losing I was able to start doing the occasional conversion to see where I was at, but still look at the weight initially in kilos because it seems a much nicer number! I know weigh myself in kilos and then change the scale to stone so I can see both, but that's only because I'm now 11kg down from my highest.

Hopefully you'll get to that point as well. But this is also my 6th? 8th? Attempt to lose the weight, so don't be disheartened if it doesn't stick immediately. Keep going, keep trying and you will get there.
See now for me stones are really meaningless.  I mean - I do know what a stone is and how to convert it to straight pounds and into kilos but if someone says they weight 10 stone or 20 stone that doesn't say anything to me.

So I like using stones on the scales as I can ignore that first bit and just look at the 14 pounds I need to lose.  And when it gets to zero I can look at the next 14.  Much better than thinking I need to lose 22 pounds or 10 kilo.

  • Made a really nice, new to me, soup for lunch. Moroccan tomato, chick pea and broad beans, with Ras el Hanout spices and topped with a cruncy Dukkah mix. Recipe said it was 181 cals per portion. I added it as a recipe to my calorie counting app, that reckons it's only 100ish cals per portion. 🤷‍♀️ It was really tasty with warm pitta bread. More fruit for a snack then! Homemade veggie cottage pie and veg for tea. I've also managed my walk today :-)

@Brambling I went back to check, seemed way too low! Somehow the chickpeas got 'lost', so it's 170cals per portion. That sounds much more like it! I used 1tbsp of olive oil. The Dukkah cals are on top, around 20cals of crunchy tastyness!

you have to add some texture or food becomes boring so the Dukkah is worth the 20 calories

  • Hello

Lol Brambling, that’s a blast from the past we did have a carpet in the tiny bathroom in the 70’s but not for long.

    Weigh day -1lb please Brambling.

I switched from kg to pounds for weighing as lost more pounds than kgs.

This week I’m having a couple of lower calorie days to accommodate for a couple of social thingys sort of like the 5:2 approach and hope that equals a STS. Will keep exercise and movement as is as I’m enjoying current level.
