Weigh in today - down 1 lb please Brambling.
Working from home and weekends are definitely a test of will power, unfortunately one that I often fail. Having said that, I still log everything and it's rare I go over maintenance, so it just means the weightloss goes slower, but still goes.
But all we can do is our best, and as long as I continue to see progress on the scale I'll be happy.1 -
well done of the loss Foofoo looks like you are averaging about 1lb per weekLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2

STS Please Brambling, I'm happy with this as I had a stressful week.
Have a good week everyone.

I'd be happy with 1lb per week, as that will get me to my goal for the new year. However, I do worry that Christmas will be difficult, and am not sure how best to go about it. I think I will have to check in regularly to keep myself accountable.1

Well done on a STS during a stressful time Jenny, hopefully this week will be less stressful for you
Foofoo all i can suggest for Christmas (just need to put it in practice myself) is to work out which days ie Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year you are going to have a 'it's christmas and I'm going to enjoy moment' and then get back on track for the other days. Maybe try to only have what you really enjoy and not just eat because it's there and be careful with the demon drink because if you are like me that is a excuse for eating c*rp like chocolate and nibbles. if you can lose a lb a week up until then it will give you some wiggle room to forget diets for a few days

Not a good week round Pixie Towers sadly. Away with work, not sleeping well, slight snots, snacking for energy, and struggling with motivation to exercise... so +3lbs for me. Maybe my body still thinks it's in holiday mode, or is trying to lay on the fat ready for winter... 🙄🤣
I'm going to focus on trying to lose some weight before my work party in mid December. Hopefully that will motivate me! My recent food delivery was mainly onions, sweet potatoes, carrots and parsnips, and tasty spices ready for making lots of soup! I must try and keep to plan and stop 'treating' myself.
So far today I've kept within my calorie goal, and managed a 3 mile walk.
Hope you all have a good week and look after yourselves.2 -

perimenopausal when weight seems to go on by just looking at a calorie and takes twice as long to come off. Not sure what to suggest are you eating enough calories? hopefully if you keep on the same track the losses will catch up with you
Foofoo working from home does give better access to those things I shouldn't eat and TBH shouldn't have brought into the house! the mute button is a wonderful thing and i've been known to take my laptop into the kitchen whilst on a long call to rummage in the cupboard or fridgeknowing i can make scones in the airfryer in 7 mins didn't help
Bazza I'm happy to move you down to the kilo section of the chart if you prefer? well done on starting to do something about your weight try not to be too harsh on yourself i think we all are quick to say things about ourselves we would not say to otherswe've all a couple of months to Christmas to try and do some good before things get a little difficult for a few days, draw a line under the pass and a fresh start
Have a good week every one
Lbs and stone are more relevant/meaningful to me but saying that they also give me the reality of where I am, so if its ok I'll go for kilos 😊2 -
Just realized I haven't checked in yet; we were away for a bit last week and I'm just getting back on the wagon. I gained a lot while I was away so I'm going to start counting from that high weight. Since last Thursday, I've lost 2lbs.2

Brambling, I think you're right, it's getting away from the idea that all of December needs to be food and drinks and treats. Luckily alcohol is not an issue as I drink very little, but it did mean I never got that early boost of giving it up and losing loads of weight!
Bazza, I was similar to you when I started, couldn't bear to look at how much my weight was in stone because I knew and understood that better. Once I started losing I was able to start doing the occasional conversion to see where I was at, but still look at the weight initially in kilos because it seems a much nicer number! I know weigh myself in kilos and then change the scale to stone so I can see both, but that's only because I'm now 11kg down from my highest.
Hopefully you'll get to that point as well. But this is also my 6th? 8th? Attempt to lose the weight, so don't be disheartened if it doesn't stick immediately. Keep going, keep trying and you will get there.3 -

The main reason it peeves me is that between 2018-21 I lost almost 6 stone and managed to keep it where I wanted it till about 12-15 months ago when I buckled, could blame personal stuff but no one was forcing the food down me!
Even during the pandemic (which affected me badly as all my nearest and dearest have serious health issues) I was somehow losing weight.
I think its the realisation of knowing all the effort I put in has been partly/largely ruined. But I know I can do it, I am pretty active its simply greed with me.
Thanks for your kind words. I always say that whilst its not easy to lose weight, it IS pretty straightforward. Its just getting my head in the right place 🤞3
