What to do when you feel like running away
1 What triggers your desire to run away: Which parts in your day to day life make you feel stuck and trapped? Think about your job, college, relationships with family and friends, get in the core of the problem so you can heal and make long-term solutions.
2 Self-talk once you know what overwhelms you and makes you want to leave the life you're currently living behind, it's time to express your emotions fully. All your thoughts, feelings and emotions, all the details about that person or event should be understood to learn more about your triggers.
3 Get lighter: You should take care of yourself and fill your own cup first to be more productive in the long run. If you keep going with the weight on your shoulders that triggers your need to escape, you'll have to stop eventually and analyse your problems as you'll either break down or get sick. you don't want to harm all the good things in your life, let some of the weight off your shoulders for a while, to give yourself time to breathe.
4 Introverts Club: home is your sacred space, especially your bedroom, or you could choose a safe space for yourself if you don't feel relaxed in your living environment. Spend some alone time to get back in touch with your healthiest version. Besides talking and interacting with people who help and support you on this journey, try to stay alone and sit with your emotions when you have time from your daily necessities.
5 Plan: Choose to plan your day putting balance first. Plan your whole day by first scheduling your obligations (basic hygiene, feeding yourself, your children's needs, urgent paperwork etc not the things other people think you should be doing). Then add small plans that will bring you joy and excitement. You may try something new, attend a sports event, socialise in new environments, go hiking etc. Do at least one thing a day that will make your life worth living, no matter how small it is.

Goodness, ICC. That sounds like a really stressful job. I don't know how you manage it.
I've never seen so much rain. It's been relentless but luckily no flooding in the immediate area although it's not far away.
It's been a quiet day. Made a curry for tomorrow. It should have been a NSD but I've bought some more December gifts to get myself organised. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
@Toni'sfriend I struggle to switch off sometimes, it's a work in progress!
Today I chilled for a bit this morning playing video games while I did 3 loads of washing. Took full advantage of the good weather and dried them all outside. Took myself off to the gym for an hour mid-morning, it was lovely and quiet.
Watched a bit of TV and did some general life admin. Cooked some lunches for next week, hoovered, just did a general clean. Also did some aquarium maintenance just now, I find it super relaxing just tidying everything up in there and getting things just right!
OH wants takeaway this evening but he has offered to pay so what the heck.9 -
Thank you @grandmanerd - I need that about running away. I even started my running away list. Trying to find a place to go to unwind - bedroom is no help as it is a disaster at the moment and the only place I have to sit in the entire house is at the computer. Spend my life very frustrated.11

Took a taxi to go for my flu jab but walked all the way back (with lots of rests). Had a 3 way choice between leedle, Tessimo and the land of Ice (could only do one as the crossings are all multi part (ie 3 crossing needed to get across one road). Went to land of Ice, spent more than expected but lots of multi offers and one December present (some of the multi offers will also be going away in the freezer when I've done the defrosting and cleaning (1 freezer, 2 fridge-freezers) and there was one multi offer that I liked but couldn't carry (getting a taxi might have negated the savings) so I may take advantage of a voucher and get somethings delivered once everything's sorted.
Got home and spent some time putting things in bins, gathering clean clothes and bedding into clean rubble sacks, moving decking boards to stand against the fence to dry out properly for painting. Didn't complete any of those jobs (it was a walk down the yard and out to the bins, move boards from the yard to the fence and then gather washing from the line as I came back up the yard. Had done my time in the adapted shoes, my legs were aching and I think I need to strap the weak ankle up again. A batch of embroidery threads came yesterday so I've done some easy sewing on the part completed designs (each animal has a saying at the bottom on a little plaque and I hadn't got the colours needed) whilst watching several episodes of my series, then a film until I got an error code.
Grateful for getting the jab, progress with household tasks and good entertainment whilst crafting.9 -

@grandmanerd your morning post couldn't have appeared at a better time! I've spent half the afternoon & all evening, consoling DS1. He has been helping a friend emotionally since spring last year, who confided in him. Her mum (an ex friend of mine now) is saying all sorts of things about him to her, really horrible things, & it's hurting him so much. We were both in tears this afternoon, I don't know who to turn to for advice. I think the mum is angry because I left a group chat we had with 2 others, 1 of whom also left, so she is lashing out any way she can. The daughter confused in her last year after my son encouraged her too, but she didn't believe her & only went to the police about this year when pressed into it by another family member. I've told DS to concentrate on a section of the day at a time, to make sure he's eating & changing his clothes, etc & spend more time with me & DH instead if being shut up in his room, when not working.
Thank you all for listening to my tale.
Went shopping with him & mum this morning. Had gone to see a friend briefly & drop some Epsom salts off, & found her in tears. Gave her a hug & helped her with a couple of things. She's better this afternoon.
Grateful for supporting a friend & her supporting me too (she's the other one who left the group), DS1 opening up about his feelings, DS3 having s good time with his friends - part of which was 1 of them treating him to visiting him at work where he helps with owls, kestrels, etc, so DS got to hold some on his armUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hugs Thrifty, you know you are doing the right thing. So is DS1. Sending him a hug. You are going to lose a friend over this, but at least you aren't related!I got absolutely nothing done today. Think I just need to get on with things so they are done. That is my job for tomorrow. Forget everyone else, just get on with what I need to do.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
