My switch to nationwide from metro was today, I have had an email from nationwide to say switch complete and the account has vanished from the metro app, however the balance of the metro account (around £17) has not appeared in the nationwide account.
Should i be worried about this yet or am i just being a bit impatient? I'm just concerned given nationwide have emailed to say done so assumed the credit balance would also be there nowMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..1 -
We successfully switched from A NatWest account, but in the process the Nationwide form would not accept the NatWest debit card, it appears to be because NatWest have recently changed from Visa to Mastercard. We rang the helpdesk who told us it was a known problem and that they can override it themselves and as it was their technical problem it would not affect our right to the switching bonus. A day after the switch completed we got a text to say we did not qualify as we went through the wrong route. We range the helpdesk again who said all they could do was raise a complaint and get back to us in 5 days.2

Raise a complaint, and ask for the switch bonus as compensation. After that has paid, if you want to be cheeky you could try switching another account to see if it works as technically you haven't taken advantage of the offer yet if they have to do something manually on your account...

Applied for an account, was told to go to branch with ID and documents, at the branch they said they could not take the documents and my ID was already in the system.

Well not sure what to do now, switch completed 24th Nov from chase, balance & direct debits showing in the nationwide app but no bonus money which should have paid by today, tried calling & they said call back tomorrow, tried going through the chat option & been cut off after the security questions 5 times! Not had any emails or notifications about qualifying or not qualifying so doesn't look like I'm going to get my bonus 🙁0

I'm hoping to switch from a donor account tomorrow (7 days after setting up Direct Debits) for the £200. I'm thinking of moving my main account there too later on. Is it possible to switch a new second account? I could then switch out the first one with the DDs. I have the 8% RS so need a current account. I'm aware I won't get the bonus twice. I hope this makes sense!1

I hope this makes sense! If you end up liking Nationwide and want to switch your main banking to them, then there's no need to open a second account. Just initiate a second switch through online banking. Only worth opening a second Nationwide account if you want to maintain a donor account for further switching2
