I'm thinking of moving my main account there too later on. Is it possible to switch a new second account? I could then switch out the first one with the DDs. I have the 8% RS so need a current account. I'm aware I won't get the bonus twice. I hope this makes sense! If you end up liking Nationwide and want to switch your main banking to them, then there's no need to open a second account. Just initiate a second switch through online banking. Only worth opening a second Nationwide account if you want to maintain a donor account for further switching1

Has anyone managed to initiate a switch as an existing customer in the last few days?
I'm trying to switch in to a relatively recently opened Joint FlexPlus, but when I get to the page where it asks for donor account debit card numbers I get an error I can't get past. Talking to customer support they believe I need to enter the whole 16 digit debit card number, but the field is limited at 5 digits and the notes indicate last 5 digits.1 -
How long usually until bonus is paid? My switch completed on 29th Nov

Completed our 2 switches on the 29th and both received our switch bonus' this afternoon.
Shame I missed the Barclays switch as I don't have any new ones to move onto.2 -
Just completed our triple Nationwide switch today – 3 x £200. Mine, Wife and Joint.
If anyone’s interested, we started out by getting another Halifax sole account each to do the switches. This took less than a week to get the account details and the associated Debit cards.
Next step involved setting up 2 Direct Debits each using ‘MoneyBox’ and ‘Plum’. (A couple of quid into each). These took about a week to get up and running.
Then set up the switches via the Nationwide banking app. Waited another week or so and bingo…. £200 quid for both myself and wife. Then cancelled the Plum and Moneybox DDs.
Next step involved doing all the same above for a Joint account switch but in this case I used ‘Cheapdirectdebit’ and ‘Smalldirectdebit’ to jump through the DD hoops.
All in all £600 for nothing and it took 5 weeks.

Good morning,
Can someone confirm that as soon the two direct debits show up on your donor account, you can instigate the switch, or do you have to wait for payments to actually be made from those two direct debits?
Basically, are active direct debits ones that are just showing on an account or do they need to have been used/activated?

Managed to apply for the switch today...
Can I log into the Nationwide account now or do I need to wait for the switch to complete/paperwork from Nationwide? I've got my new account/sort code details so not sure if I can register for online banking with just those?
I'm looking to set up that linked 8% savings account asap.
