I've just rejoined this thread, as having received the Barclays £175 switch incentive I'm leaving them and their shambolic practices asap...

So has anyone switched into their existing N/W account from Barclays and experienced problems like active DDs not transferring with the switch please?

  • On the transfer day, do Nationwide text or email confirming bank switch completed?

Mine due to happen at some point today. I can see the two DDs have been removed from my old account & added to the new Nationwide account, but the old account is still showing active as off 13.40

For few days the DDs and payees were shown on both donor and Flex. Today when the switchover happened as per my requested date,  the old account is no longer visible - but it might take overnight for your bank to update this. I always leave a nominal amount in the donor and once it arrives at the recipient I know it has completed. NW did send me an e-mail to that extent around lunchtime.

Yeah, I got the switch email from Nationwide this afternoon...

Donor account still showing on Lloyds at the moment but the two DDs have disappeared & debit card also no longer showing, so I'm sure it will get removed overnight...

Have you had the text from Nationwide yet to confirm you've qualified for the £200 & any idea how long it takes to reach your new account?

Not yet. From what was shared on this thread, if all is right (bear in mind they have cocked up my switch already) I'd expect the glittering prize to grace the account latest by Monday. If they deny me the incentive, I will log a complain about NW not honouring all points promised on the switch guarantee

  • My account switched yesterday, text message confirming bonus & actual bonus received this afternoon. Easy £200

Can see how this becomes addictive as only started the switching game a few months ago with the HSBC offer, then the Lloyds one & now the Nationwide one...

Now, eagerly awaiting the next one to pop up!

My switch has completed but I’m yet to open the linked 8% savings account…

I’m waiting til 29/12 to deposit first £200 so then £200 again on 01/01/2024 then set up S/O for £200 per month effective 01/02/2024 so I can benefit from the 13 payments…

Will this linked savings account still be available then or should I just fund it now?

Switch from Barclays into existing Flexplus account completed yesterday, just got the "you qualify for the £200 bonus" text so all is good.
