  • @bubbs, your meals always sound life something that ID want to eat :) But I cant work out what BNS is???

Nope, no rest for the wicked as they say, Im totally zonked.  Ive not been sleeping for quite a while and its really catching up on me. Ive suffered with insomnia since my 20s, it comes and goes. Not as bad as I used to get, id go 3 nights with no sleep regularly, and I was ok with that. These nights of 3 or 4 hours are worse because whilst Im wide awake at 5 or 6, come 7 am Im nodding off, and thats the start of the day. You know like how you have to get up for an early flight? How that leaves you feeling? Thats where Im at  - but every day. I could easily sleep at say 4pm, but of course I cant, so I push on, and I push myself past sleeping - like a child, so now, at a proper bed time, Im wired and it will be 2 or 3am before the eyes close

@Singlesue , congrats on the shine new sticker xxx Thats a tremendous achievement , esp with your mobility problems and food issues. You have to be super proud of yourself xxx did you get to find jeans you could wear?

Carp day for me today. Short staffed in work and I knew I was going to be dishwashing for most of my shift today, not a problem, Ive worked in all stations of a restaurant so knew what the day had in store for me. What I forgot was I WAS CLOSE TO FOOD!!!! Fattening food which is synned to the hilt, and it was all around me. Dishwashing area is also where all the staff congregate for a sneaky feed of left overs or a cheeky bowl of chips. I succumbed :( I didnt eat loads but we do these amazing cheese and bacon burgers , the cooked burger is then put on a wee tray, smothered with cheese and bacon bits and grilled till bubbling, the burger served and the tray thrown do to the dishwasher - a tray of bubbling melted cheese and bacon. And of course that has to be scraped off into the bib, only it got scraped into my mouth - twice :(. If I didnt drink Id be ok, it wasnt piles, just wee picks, but I use my syns on whisky - never food, and I struggle with a pound a week loss as it is. Rest of the day was magical food wise, yoghurt, fruit and oat brand before work and cam home to beef stew packed with speed and I had couscous as I dont like potatoes

Actually , the lack of sleep is getting me obsessing and Im just getting too stressed this week on losing two pound I have this date in mind, I did the same when my stone loss was approaching, , got super stressed and made it my focus. Its 2 lb, just 2lb, and yet right now, this moment, it feels a million miles away

Im over tired, I know that, and I know when Im this tired I start obsessing

I also know Ill be fine pretty soon enough

    Morning all,

Congrats on your 5st award @SingleSue but so sorry to hear of your health woes. That's really bad of your GP so hope you can get your BMI record sorted x
Hugs to you and your DH @MrsPorridge - not an easy time x
Can you squirt washing up liquid on the dirty trays/plates @Longwalker - that's what I used to do with the kids leftover nuggets etc. BNS is butternut squash.
I asked my new boss if I could do my e-learning now to have time to go to the funeral of my friend and she said yes - can't believe it, they've been so accommodating over my notice period, salary and now this.

Another Pep$i max fan here but try to limit to one can per day. Was just interested for when people eat out - I find it really bloats me, so wanted some non-fizzy options rather than just water. My colleagues had cocktails!

Didn't have lunch yesterday because I popped out to collect something from the town - just grabbed some crabsticks when I got home. This meant snacking on Quality Street whilst dinner cooked - really not good, but 'we move' as they say. Did a Slimming Eats recipe of $1m spaghetti last night and it was fab with some salad.

    Food today:
    B - 2 x WM toast, 2 tsp jam, 2 satsumas - HEB, 1, S
    L - Mushroom and cheese omelette, salad - HEA, P, S
D - Slimming Eats chicken gyro bowls - Free
    HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3, rum n pepsi max 3, plus 1 so 7 total

Longwalker - Yep,  I finally bought a new pair last week...in a size down. I really wish I had kept my old pair of jeans from when I started on this journey, it would have been interesting to see just how big they would be on me now.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Morning all, been racing around this morning as still packing the motorhome for the weekend.  Still loads to put in but still got plenty of time as we won't be leaving until about 4pm as we're going to a school playground to camp.  I'm hoping they've got the use of the hall this evening as it will be warmer than the van!  It's only for a couple of nights and we have to leave around lunchtime on Sunday.

I've managed to sort out the menu plan for the weekend which of course needed to be changed because I didn't know we were going away this weekend when I did the menu plan for November!

You should exhausted @Longwalker.  Stop worrying about the fact you've had some of the cheese, it's happened so draw the line and move on.  You can't change what's happened only what happens in the future.  You can do it.

Well done on the new sized jeans @SingleSue.  It would have been interesting to see the difference between your staring jeans and now but moving forwards perhaps hang onto this pair when you continue going down through the sizes, at least you'll have something to compare them with.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach, toast - HEB; P; S
    L - leek and potato soup - S; F
    D - Thai fish red curry, rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEA2- cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - G&Ts; water biscuits 3?

    Have a good day everyone.

Will try to get on over the weekend but not sure what the internet signal is like where we're going.

Edit:  Change of plan we're now not going away as DH isn't feeling very well.  Must be feeling rough as he actually went to have a nap and he very rarely does that!

Didn't get to post yesterday but have had a quick read through.

Many congratulations on your 5 stone @SingleSue.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I think I'd be taking your certificate along to the surgery and waving it under your GP's nose! That's so unkind not to update your weightloss with the consultant.

I'm not a fan of Pepsi max or any of the sweet soft drinks @Coxy11. I'll perhaps have one fizzy water or a slimline tonic and then just drink water. At home I drink squash (grapefruit or lemon) as a soft drink but I wouldn't have fruit juice out as I don't think it's worth the syns.

I had to look up $million spaghetti and it turns out it's very much the way I do my own Bolognese. I've gradually added more and more Speed over the years until there's more veg than meat! I prefer a white wine stock pot to red and also add a bay leaf. Did you think the fresh tomatoes and passata made a difference rather than tinned tomatoes? 🤔

You're doing really well at maintaining @maddiemay. It's a shame that some of that is because you're still not feeling 100% but it's an ill wind. Do let us know if you find a project for your kit & natter. I enjoy knotting but I don't want or need any jumpers or anything like that. In the past I've knitted cushion covers and the like but don't need more.

Sorry to hear that Joe isn't feeling well @joedenise and you've had to put off your trip. Such a shame as tomorrow is meant to be dry and bright. Hope your bruises are healing well @bubbs

I had a delicious but off plan lunch yesterday. We went to a lovely pub in the forest and the food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere.  My main was fine, pan fried sole with prawns and samphire served with new potatoes and TS broccoli. The only syns there would have been in the butter for frying.  My downfall was the baked camembert starter I shared with my friend plus the (single😇) glass of wine. I enjoyed every syn though and didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Back on plan today. 👍🏼

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, strawberries (S), banana (F)
    L- fried eggs (P), bubble & squeak (S,F), pickles (S)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), roast veg, green stuff (S)
    Syns- weekend wine😁

Thanks @maman.  He's feeling a little better after his nap but still not brilliant.  We'll probably have a night or two at Canterbury in a couple of weeks time just to get away.  We also need to top up the diesel and gas as it's best to leave them topped up for the winter.

Your lunch yesterday sounds lovely.  It's the sort of thing I'd choose.  Well done on just the single glass of wine - it's what I usually do when we eat out.  If DH is feeling better tomorrow we might go out for lunch somewhere but we'll see.

Creeps in and whispers I’m not staying on at work 😁 boss isn’t a happy bunny but not my problem!

I have no idea how WI will go tomorrow! Have stayed mostly to plan but last night celebrated a friend’s birthday and she produced wine and pizza! Not a bit of salad in sight 🙈

Haven’t managed to catch up with posts yet but hope you all - and your loved ones - are well.
