Wet and windy here too now @maman.  I did decide to go to group after all this morning and it was another measly 0.5lb but suspect it's probably because I didn't eat enough rather than eating the wrong stuff!  Certainly didn't have as many syns as I ought to have done.  Will try to make sure I have a few more syns this week and up the Speed foods a bit too.

It's going to be a bacon roll (using a Schlaar ciabatta roll as HEB rather than bread).  Will be having plenty of pickles with it and follow that with an orange and an apple.

Planning on making some mince pies this afternoon and also making a stifado for tomorrow night's dinner so that I'll just need to reheat it tomorrow night and do some mash and veg.  It's another recipe from the World of Flavours book.

@Jellybaby - definitely keep saying No at work to extending your working life.  You've been looking forward to retiring for a while now so you really don't need the added stress of extending your time there.  Keep strong.

Don't knock the half pound off @joedenise. I'd happily settle for that at my next WI. 👍

I'm assuming the mince pies are for the freezer but you could have one to taste  as you're upping the syns! 🤣

I'm not knocking the half pound @maman, it's just it was just the scales went down the full pound and then jumped back to the half pound so it was a bit disappointing to be just the half!  I'm definitely settling for it.  I'm just trying to get down to bottom end before Christmas as not only have we got Christmas and New Year to get through but I've also got an All Inclusive holiday booked for early January!

Not sure the mince pies are going to get made this afternoon after all as the stifado is taking much longer than I thought to be prepped and starting the cooking that  I'm just getting it to the point where it can go into the slow cooker and then I'll put it in the fridge once it's cooled down until the morning and then it can go on all day ready for dinner tomorrow night!

The mince pies will get made in the morning probably now.  Will definitely be having a "taster" one.  I'm only making small ones which should work out at 3.5 syns each so might even have a 2nd one!  Had one this morning at group and they're not a bad size for the syns.  It's the recipe from the app.  I've no doubt that DH will manage several (he usually eats a box in 2 days when I buy them!), that's the reason I've bought the mincemeat to make some.  It's got to be cheaper.

I haven't got a lot of freezer space but will definitely be putting at least half into it and hopefully more!

Oh no , the stuttering scales! I know them well. At least, they stopped inside your target range. It's when n they don't it's so horrible. ☹️

Good luck with getting as low as you can. 👍

  • Hi all. Hope you aren't too shook up after your falls bubbs.

Well, still didn't flippin exchange on the house. The lender for the first time buyer said they wouldn't oblige with written confirmation of funds until completion day on Friday, so exchange and completion on the same day! I hit the roof, as did my buyer.

Got a phone call from my EA late afternoon to say that all being well we should exchange tomorrow and complete on Friday. We better cos I don't want much more of this stress.

Eldest is coming up tomorrow and can help with the move. Hopefully anyway is she hasn't been well and now youngest isn't well too. But it means that rather than her sorting through and decluttering her room, I'm just having to pack everything. She will have to do it at the new place which isn't ideal.

Really want eldest to start SW too but mentally I think it isn't the right time for her. She's just very overweight now which makes a 12 hour hospital shift even more difficult. I was exactly the same at her age.  Then late 20s started Rosemary Conley as I fancied the guy who did it and lost 6.5 stone. She isn't happy with her weight but had her dad ín her ear for years being sarcastic about her size, what she was eating etc.
So now that she is away from him, and has her own money and works long hours,  she has no one telling her not to buy a takeaway every day if she wants to.
She needs to come to it in her own time.
