  • Lots of lovely ideas for food and thanks maman for explaining the target thing. I definitely am a long way off target but it was something I was wondering about too.

Today has been a mixed day for me.
Off work but had to get called in and went to a couple of clients then managed an 8k run in gorgeous sunny autumn weather.
Then my car failed its MOT so that will be more expense on Monday when it is in the garage.

We were hoping to exchange on our house move today but that didn't happen again! Still hoping to exchange Monday then complete and move on Friday.

SW-wise was good. Because I was at work then going for a run, then the MOT, I didn't actually eat or drink anything except an energy chew mid run until I got a cup of tea at 4.30pm!
Just had another big bowl of veg with cous cous (2syns) and hexa feta. Picky plate (love that phrase) of chicken with those skinny crispy rye cracker thingies hexb, and after a suggestion on here, a wee mature cheddar thing from Aldi cut into wee cubes and had them with grapes. Haven't had grapes and cheese or apple and cheese for ages. Big bowl of melon for afters then off to bed with my mint options.
    So 1 Hexa, 1 hexb, 8 syns.

Happy Birthday to you @bubbs! 🎶🎶
You're a star sticking to plan today😇. If it was me, I'd be in my favourite restaurant stuffing my face. 🤣 Hope you get a loss tomorrow and good luck with Miss Slinky as well.

That's super Body Magic going for the run today @NornironRose. Shame the house exchange and MOT didn't play ball as well. ☹️ You may have overdone the HEAs a bit with feta and Cheddar plus any milk but hopefully still within syns for the day.🤞
  • At WI today I S/S.  So thank goodness I got away with it!  Back on track today

    B overnight oats (HEB)
L crustless quiche and salad (HEA)
D Jacket potatoes with tuna salad (1 syn for Extra light mayo).
    Other HEA milk
    Tunnocks teacake (5 syns)
Meringue nest (2.5 syns) and berries

@bubbs that ice cream looks lovely, can I have the recipe please as i have an ice cream maker - thank you.
STS is a win @MrsPorridge . Its brilliant to get that result when you are fearing the worse isnt it?

@Coxy11, thats ruddy brilliant , Kudos for actually being able to feel you could negotiate , I know I have never been able to. Flip me, Id go in looking a rise and talk myself into a cut :) Brilliant News xx. You will shine, you wouldn't have applied if you couldn't do it, they wouldn't have come to the table if they didnt think you  were worth it xxx

@ maddiemay< I hear you regarding bread. Thats my trigger, love it, devastated when I found SW limited it, struggled for weeks, then found the Nevilles WM so could have 2 slices as a HEB, and now it, or any bread gives we smelly wind like you would never want to smell again in your life.

I missed it, I still do, bread that is, not the smelly wind, but I know my stomach cant cope with it anymore. so I go without on a good day. I do my utmost not to use syns on food ( so I cocked up on the stilton but the wee finger of it that I use to flavour isnt going to kill me ) so bread is always a HEB, but its now becoming a "not worth it " food. I choose now to use whole-bran in my FF yoghurt instead. Much easier on the tummy and high fibre and it really does help me get through a long day.

    @bubbs - Happy Birthday

Up early as Ive got to get my taster ready ,ploughman sticks and get to group early as Ive work today. 10 - 2. I was good yesterday with that shift, I took a couple of baby bells in and it did me, I didnt pick at anything. Got in and made those two a luxury fish pie - didnt skimp on either cream nor milk and for myself I made a hash of a meal, , sliced aubergines onions and tomatoes with two poached eggs on top of wholemeal bread. Yes I suffered with the wind, well more so mr L did, but he had used all the left over rice I had earmarked for myself

So heres praying for a good result. Ive been exceptionally good this week - I think anyways :)

Good morning all, sorry @bubbs that I missed your birthday wow for being so strong willed.
@Longwalker just as well you and I not going to be in the same room
@NornIronRos rotten news about the car MOT
@maman not a daft question at all -when this happened over a year ago GP said try quick fix of a packet of crisps a day and retest, levels went up and stayed up until 3 months ago, small drop and again this quarter, we will do the same again and if it succeeds should just need to take more salt daily, bit trial and error as too much salt as bad as too little- the joys of ageing!
@joedenise I ate mainly GF for years until medics found why my body was fighting itself, GF bread is foul if, like me you have always eaten real proper small baker's bread, I just checked the SW EHB one on the list and it has 25 ingredients. Lots of lovely seeds and nuts I can weigh out and portion and plan my meals better to indulge of the something on toast or a toastie less often.
As always thank you for your thoughts you are all so generous with your time to help us.
Those with a taster session I hope you find some yummy offerings to go along with those you are taking

Morning all, the weather is foul again, really heavy rain but hopefully it will ease up shortly as need to go out as promised to take my friend and sister to the train station as the buses around here just don't tie up with the trains!  Also need to go shopping!  Have decided to go to Sainsbury as want to get a nice piece of the reduced pork - hopefully I can find a piece which can be cut in half so that can go in the freezer.  If I can only find a piece which will feed us tomorrow and Monday then I'll pick up a piece of beef as well.  Can't really get both though as not much freezer space!  Need to use a bit more from it before I can add a 2nd piece of meat!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with low fat sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
D - Greek souvlaki, salad, minty yoghurt - P; S; F (recipe from an old SW book "World of Flavours")

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - sausages 2

    Have a good day everyone.

Same here as yesterday @joedenise, sun one minute rain the next. ☹️ Tomorrow it's meant to be dry.🤞

I love souvlaki, happy memories of Greek holidays. 🌞😎 Do share the recipe if it works well.

I try to have fish at least once a week. It's not on the menu for dinner this week so will have tinned tuna, sardines and/or mackerel for lunch.

I know what you mean about 'not worth it' foods @Longwalker. We all need to prioritise our syns and what we use them for will be different for everyone. I consider sweet stuff as not worth it so I can very happily go without cakes, biscuits, sweets and chocolates. I also found it helped me to ban some foods as I like them too much. Crisps come into that and cheese used to until SW introduced the second HEA. Now it's my idea of a real treat to have a cheeseboard in a restaurant or a shop bought sandwich with crisps on a day out or for the journey on holiday.

Thanks for the info about the salt @maddiemay. In general I suppose we have less with SW as most of us cook from scratch so don't have the hidden salt in ready meals. 🤔

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB (0.5) toast , scrambled eggs, ham (P). tomatoes (S), HEA 1 milk for drinks
    L- HEB (0.5) toast, sardines (P ), pickles and tomatoes (S)
    D- chicken supreme (P, S, HEA 2 cheese), potato cubes (F)
    Syns - weekend wine 😁

  • Got a social event to go to now. With cake lol.

Going to try to find time to eat before I go and will only have a cup of tea there. For brekkie I had berries, banana and yoghurt, with 2 syns worth of granola for texture (high protein granola but not worth it for the syns. Could only have 8g!!!!!)
