Well done for getting back on plan so quickly @MrsPorridge. You'll feel so much better to get that back in control. 👍

Thanks for the heads up on the air fryer @bubbs. I was going to order one but Internet has been playing up all day so will try tomorrow.

Last week I tried to book a hotel for nephew's wedding but payment wouldn't go through as Internet was so slow, so didn't want to risk it as even mobile signal is coming and going. ☹️

I should have been having same dinner as you tonight @joedenise as DH out at a meeting and then I was going to my art group. I woke up this morning with a filthy cold so feeling sorry for myself and stayed home and had planned dinner instead when DH got back.

It's the first cold I've had for about 5 years so feel rough. I've had some Lemsip so feel a bit better than earlier.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S)
L- ham (P), potato and parsnip (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- haddock (P), SW chips (F), carrots, mushroom, tomatoes, green stuff (S)
    Syns - Lemsip 🤔

  • Good for you @MrsPorridge for getting back on track so quickly. It really is all too easy to go through tough times and put ourselves at the bottom of the pile

@bubbs , jeez the weather was wild here during the night, I gave up trying to sleep at 4:30 and sat up on the sofa till exhaustion took over and I got another hour. I didnt start till 12:30 today so when I left it was just the rain to contend with. Lot of debris on the roads but there weren't too many about so got in safely - thank you for asking

@maman , I love my air fryers ( Ive two ) use them daily for something or other, esp for those things I did without cos it wasnt worth putting the oven on. And OMG the yoghurt I make in y 15 in 1 - unbelievable . Skimmed milk and its so thick that when you knock it off the spoon, the spoon is clean, its lush

So I went a bit mad over the weekend and gained a pound lol.  Started straight after WI, headed into lidl and they gave me a free pastry on the app - so a danish was demolished in the car.  Then the boss shared a fruit slice with me - think SLAB, then Sunday I went and got crisps - they only do my crisps in family bag size or multi packs in some supermarkets and yep, the bag was in my tummy before bed, including half the bag shoved into a bread roll slathered in butter

So jumped on the scales this morning, gave my head a wobble and back on track. Obviously Im not going to be able to let the guard down too much moving forward

Brunch was my usual yoghurt/fruit and oat bran and tonight I made a SW Jalfrezi . Wasnt what Id call a curry but whatever it was very tasty, full of speed and protein and served with plain boiled rice - stuffed, seriously stuffed

Tomorrow I have my appointment at the docs and whilst in town I shall trawl the charity shops, Im looking a winter coat as Im beginning to feel the cold. My winter coat which has hardly had any wear I passed to my BF. We have both lost about the same but shes a lot taller then me so the coat looks ok on her - she was well pleased. I also gave her a lot of my leggings that hang on me. Her build is completely different to mine, Im round with skinny legs and shes skinny up top and has wide hips and thighs. Its so weird cos we really are little and large side by side yet we wear similar size clothes, indeed a 14 dress looks better on her then me!!!

I hope everyone is well xxxx

  • I've been thinking about an airfryer but not sure I would use it that much.  I do have a Remoska and use that almost every day.  I do prefer batch cooking (when I use the oven) and generally batch cook stuff like cottage pie, lasange, chicken curry etc., then I freeze in portions and just reheat in the remoska - not sure I could do that in the air fryer?  Could I?

Still struggling a bit today - couldn't concentrate on my OU studies so gave up.

B porridge with stewed apple (1.5 syns) (HEB)
    L scrambled egg and spinach
D jacket potato with beans and cheese (HEA) so not much speed today :(
    Snacks banana and yoghurt

Also thinking we may go out to the pub for a drink tonight - most we will have is 2 so I am going for the gin and slim option.

Well I've finally got on here!  Been at the hospital SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) with DH all morning!  After the call on Saturday morning DH spoke to our GP yesterday who in turn phoned the hospital and called back to tell DH to go to the hospital this morning and they'd be expecting him.  Yes they were expecting him but what a complete and utter waste of time!

Left home at 7.15, finally got to the hospital about 8.30.  They took bloods and inserted a canula about 9am and then had to wait for the results which took us to 11.15am.  Finally saw a Dr about 11.30 and got sent for a chest X-ray.

Got back to the SDEC about 12.45 and then had to wait to see the Dr again.  To say they weren't in the least concerned would be an understatement.  Just said that he needed to have more bloods taken in about a week's time and she would write to our GP to tell them that.  Tried to say all his blood results are due to his COPD!  Never had these sorts of results before and he's been suffering COPD for nigh on 40 years as have I!

Finally left the hospital about 1.15pm and while driving home realised they hadn't removed the canula so ended up at the local Minor Injury Unit to get it removed and waited there for just over half hour so finally got home nearly 2.45pm!

I think we both feel absolutely P*ssed off!

Anyway food has obviously not been as SW friendly as it could have been but chose as sensibly as I could!

    B - mushroom omelette - P; S
    L - prawn mayo sandwich on WM - HEB; P; 12
    D - toad in the hole, mash, cabbage, green beans - S; F; 6.5

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - mayo 5?; slice bread 7; 25g flour 4.5; LF sausages 2

I know I'm well over on syns but very low all week so should be OK and not going to group this week anyway!

Hope you've all had better days than I have!!!
