Cheery_Daff said:Well, you are here and our MSE pal, so I think we are allowed to say that you are definitely the best π In our house, I am definitely a martyr patient π Often won't rest when I need to π Mr Cheery is an excellent nurse, and rather bossy when it comes to making me rest, but if he's ill too we've got no chance - he's often both grumpy and weedy, and I take an attitude of 'fine, I suppose I'll have to do it all myself then' which doesn't really help anyone! Oh dear! π
These are just times we have to get through!Β
Glad you're feeling brighter now, and that there's no damage to your home. Our cellar regularly floods which is fine as we expect it and don't use it, but gosh, I can only imagine the calamity if it even got as far as the kitchen π How awful. Fire frightens me even more - probably because I've often lived on top of hills so it feels far more likely than flooding!Β
Are you back at all your groups now after being unwell? I often think of you and your little art nook π
Yay!Β I'm the best at being ill πππ
I'm not back out in the world yet @Cheery_Daff but have a couple of things in my diary this coming week.Β I've a lot of chores to get on top of though (house work has been severly neglected) so will have to balance that with gallivanting.
Good to hear that the cellar is holding back the waves.Β You guys got much more of the weather than we did in the Shire.

Curate's Egg
The last couple of days have been good in parts.
I felt almost back to normal yesterday and made a start on reducing my blood pressure.Β I walked FDawg and Mr F around the field for a mile and followed up with an hour of Tai Chi.Β Calories were counted.Β Work and chores were completed.Β Shopping was shopped.Β Lunch was Chunky Cauliflower & Spinach Chowder and supper was Courgette, Tomato & Feta PastaΒ (made with a tin of tomatoes rather than fresh).Β A productive day although I had run out of energy by the end of it.
Today I've had a headache and not accomplished much.Β I have managed to link mine and Mr F's business calendars so we can both see what's going on and social events can take more of a priority.Β I confirmed some WI meetings, booked the venues, confirmed some social events and arranged for some family to visit.
Most of the morning was spent sorting out Mr F's final salary.Β It seems Narcissitic Boss has not processed Mr F's resignation.Β This is his last week π² She even sent him an email this morning saying (again) that he could stay on until the end of the year if he wanted to.Β She's said this several times now and Mr F has always been clear that it isn't an option for him.Β In the same email she said that Mr F had to enter his resignation on to an IT system.Β His employment contract doesn't say this.Β His contract just says he has to give his resignation in writing with the required amount of notice which he has done.Β Mr F entered the information immediately but complained that he was being given very little notice of what was required of him.Β Narcissistic Boss said that she had told him this before π²Β A bare-faced lie.Β To his face.Β She was unprofessional during the call - raising her voice, saying Mr F was not being supportive, interrupting him constantly and shouting him down.Β I was so concerned about the tone of the call I recorded it from outside the door of Mr F's study π²Β The upshot is that the holiday pay Mr F is owed will not be included in his final salary but will be paid at the end of November π Β There's nothing we can do about it and raising a grievance won't accomplish anything at this stage.Β However, we are both adamant that we don't want to work with someone who has so little integrity.Β Mr F is due to have a meeting with her on Thursday to discuss potential contract work and we are thinking about how best to manage that.Β Very upset that Mr F is having to deal with this but it is, at least, validating our decision for him to leave.
Lunch today was Full English ShakshukaΒ (without the bacon) and supper was leftover pasta.Β I'm within my calorie allowance for the day andΒ I walked a mile with FDawg and Mr F again this morning so that all goes towards managing my blood pressure.Β Stress reduction however... well there's only a week to go now.
Happy Tuesday all
