Two Men Down
Thank you for all the well wishes guys. I feel I am on the mend. Mr F was overseas on a business trip whilst I was ill so I had to manage without a nurse 😆 Fortunately I wasn't too unwell and my new dog sitter was available most days to help out with FDawg. Mr F managed to get away a day earlier than planned and came home to look after me. However, he started coming down with something on the journey home 😲 He's testing negative for Covid but, whatever it is he's caught, it's quite nasty so we're two men down now and just hoping we don't cross-contaminate each other.
Having lived on pasta and crisps for the last week I'm very grateful to be well enough to cook something a little more nutricious now. We had Fish Finger Wraps with Pea Puree for lunch yesterday and Leek and Potato Soup for supper. Neither or us has much of an appetite at the moment so I'm keeping things light. My sense of smell and taste has been affected by the virus - leeks smell strongly of tomato ketchup and lots of things taste of salt when they shouldn't - cream cheese for one 😁
I bought a breadmaker in the end - JL had a members' week incentive so I got £20 off and used up £40 of vouchers we had. It has been languishing on the kitchen worktop since but I used it for the first time yesterday and we had the bread with our soup. It turned out well for a first attempt - despite me not setting the correct loaf size 🙄
Other than that I've managed to push the vacuum round a bit 😆
It's turned a bit chillier here the last couple of days so I've put the heating on and the thermostat has been kicking in morning and evening.
There's not much more to report on Fortunate Inc. Mr F had conversations about contracts whilst away and was even offered a full time job 😁 But I haven't been able to concentrate on paperwork so haven't progressed my side of things any further.
Hope everyone is warm and well.
Fortune x

Oh no, sorry to hear Mr FS has succumbed, hopefully you both feel better soon! At least soup is relatively easy to make, just dice and chuck in a pot with stock for an hour, but it can't be any fun when your tastebuds are wonky!"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Small Steps
Mr F has called in sick to work and spent the morning in bed. He's not very good at resting though so is up now, complaining that I'm watching Strictly and generally being grumpy. I am not at my most tolerant at the moment as I'm still recovering myself but am managing to look after him rather than killing him for now 😆
We had leftover soup for lunch yesterday and Ultimate Falafel Wraps for supper. (There was plenty of raw garlic in the wraps @Humdinger1 so hopefully that will help - even chewing gum tastes salty today 😂) It'll be the same on the menu again today as there's some leftover.
I've meal planned for the week and done the grocery shop. Also sent the final documents needed to set up the business bank account so am just waiting to see whether they'll give us one now.
I'm definitely feeling more myself today (despite Mr F waking me up several times in the night with coughing, spluttering and grumbling - he's definitely a worse patient than I am). We've both cleared our diaries for this week which should give us plenty of time to get well. Very grateful that Mr F became ill this week and not last when he was away.
I walked FDawg this morning and will take him out again in a minute. Sometimes it feels a bit of a chore but I'm just glad I'm able to do it again.
Onwards and upwards
