Oooo - thanks for the vitamin D reminder! - I take a supplement year round but have to double it in the winter - as it has been a bit of a pants summer, with so few days spent in the sunshine, it might be an idea to start the double dosage a month early!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!3

I was just reading an article about the importance of Vit D and it was suggesting that as its largely been a fairly poor summer most folk will be even lower on it than usual. I have started taking mine today,4

I appear to be the only person welcoming the change in seasons! Summer is all well and good, but it gets boring quickly. I enjoy being snuggly too much 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

I've always loved autumn, and I don't mind winter. But living out in the middle of nowhere now, the colder seasons have started to feel slightly different... Colder, for a start 😂 We had 4 days without electricity last year, and 6 days without heating 🙄 (although in our old city house we once had 2 months without central heating - but that was easier in a city terrace than a draughty farmhouse 😂). I get far more concerned about icy roads, water gets into the house, and occasionally big storms have meant we can't get out (or sometimes in 😂) for 3 days. There are trees round our house, and powerlines, and we did actually get struck by lightening this year (in June though, not winter 😂)
So I do like some things about the cooler months, I really do, but I just feel like I'm more at the mercy of the practicalities now 😂
(And yes, I could do things like generators etc, but it's not worth it for a few days every couple of years).
But those are the exceptions - I should make more of enjoying the other things!7 -
I should add, I don't spend the whole time worrying - it's just in the summer things feel a lot more effortless! Possibly because we are on top of a windy hill and it's never been 'too hot' here 😂5

Anyway, talking of enjoyment of seasonal things, I've just remembered my Glennie Kindred (I think) books, which I'm hoping to dig out when my book shelves are put up this afternoon 😁 Lots of suggestions in there for appreciating the seasons 😊4 -

We have registered the company 🥳 We should get confirmation soon and the next step will be to organise a bank account. I'm a Director 😁 Mr F is half way through his notice period now so it feels good to get things sorted.
In other good news, the swallows returned this morning so Mr F got to see the spectacle after all.
Also Mr F was able to correctly diagnose the problem with the mower and get to the failed part and remove it. It's going to cost £30 to replace it which is a relief as mowers can be a lot more expensive then cars to repair. It did take Mr F all day to sort out - he described it as a 'dockyard job'. And he's still got to put it all back together 😲
Lunch was Leek & Potato Soup with a buttered wholemeal roll. Supper was Indonesian-Style Prawn Curry & Green Bean Rice (we are still working our way through the green bean harvest 😆) I've also started taking Vitamin D today 😉
We went out to our local brewery for an Oktoberfest evening last night. There was an Oompah band, bratwurst and beer served in steins that we got to take home. We didn't stay long or drink much as Mr F was jet lagged but it was nice to be out on a Saturday night.
Mr F is still adjusting to UK hours so I suspect it will be an early night tonight too but I don't mind as I could do with catching up on some sleep myself.
Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday evening. It's pitch black outside here and it's only 8 pm 😲
