Cheery_Daff said:Ooh,good progress there! Am impressed with your trousers too! I've done skirts and a couple of loose flowing tops but never trousers, most impressive!
Thanks @Cheery_Daff. They are very simple trousers with an elasticated waist - the first pair I've made without sewing the legs up wrongly on the first go 😂 If you can make skirts, I'm sure you'd be able to make these without any problem.

Ready to roll
We have decided on an accountant and agreed terms 🥳 Part of which is that we will be setting the company up ourselves as it will cost £300 otherwise 😲 Our accountancy costs alone will add up to about 3 days work for Mr F. It would be so much simpler if he could work as a sole trader but his clilents require a limited company. We will save on tax with me being a director so swings and roundabouts I suppose.
So the next step is to register the company which I had intended to do today. However, Mr F is on his way home and should get here tomorrow morning so I'll think I'll wait so that we can do it together 💑
Then we will need to arrange a bank account, some insurance and some client bookings 😁
In not so good financial news, our mower is making very loud and worrying noises 😲 Mr F thinks it's the clutch 🙁
I've been invited to join a new writing group. They are a very exclusive group who work together to publish their work so I feel quite honoured 😊 I've been to the first meeting which I enjoyed. I've also heard that the writing group I attended prior to the pandemic might be starting up again in a different guise which will be lovely.
I think today may be the day the swallows leave us. They have been gathering on the power line outside our bedroom window for a couple of weeks now, their numbers slowly growing. When I went out to walk FDawg this morning there were hundreds of them - on the power line, the top of our barn, all along the fence which divides our field from our neighbours and wheeling through the sky and over the pasture. There were more than I've ever seen before and FDawg and I walked through them all. It was amazing 😁 I will be very sad to see them go - it signals the true end of the summer for me. And sad that Mr F will have missed the spectacle by one day.
I will start thinking about all the things I enjoy about the autumn and winter. My mood always drops this time of year so I need to appreciate these seasons more and not wish them away. I'm particularly looking forward to curling up in front of our new log burner 🔥
Hope all is going well for you peeps.

Such a lovely update Fortune! I love how your description of the swallows really painted the picture of their gathering 😍
I'm not fond of this part of the year either as the shortening days bring on an impending sense of doom! I do however refer to this time of year as pumpkin spice season and take great delight in the scents and sights of autumn! First chai tea of the season is currently being drunk - and I'm looking forward to a piece of maple pecan cake at some point thus week from our favorite independent cafe!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Oh yes @rtandon27 - maple pecan cake is definitely something to look forward to 😋 I hadn't thought of scents. When we visited Oman years ago we bought back a bag of frankincense and a traditional brass incense burner. The burner sits on top of our log burner and, when it gets hot enough, fills the whole house with a lovely sweet, piney scent. I love the smell of garden bonfires too.

Not sure if this helps but less daylight hours means a potential reduction in vitamin D. I have to take a supplement all year long. I used to get quite down in the winter months but since taking the tablet I have felt a lot better.

I have been taking Vitamin D over the winter months for the last couple of years @Swayingseaweed and I do find it helps. I usually take them from October to March but maybe I need to start them now. It's been an eventful year in the Fortunate household so I'm probably a bit low on resources. Thanks for the reminder 😘
