The best news is that Mr F has been offered a contract with an organisation he really wants to work with 🥳 It's long term, pays well and will probably start from 1 December. It means he won't be able to do the contract work Narcissistic Boss wants him to do as there'll be a conflict of interest - which solves that problem. He'll be able to do other types of work for his current employer but there'll be a different person managing that. Narcissistic Boss will not be happy - I'll be recording that meeting too 😉

Fortune xDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hooray for Mr F new contract and cutting all ties with stupid boss! I very much enjoy the "epic f*** you money stories" thread on the Mr Money Mustache forum - this definitely sounds like one of those, having enough money saved to be able to just turn and walk away from a rotten situation. Excellent stuff.

This may well be the start of a big boot up the j*cks*e from karma for Narcissistic Boss. Maybe DH will have chance to explain (uber-professionally, as he would!) to her bosses why and what the h*ll? With his reputation, they'd listen. You are both fab @Fortune_Smiles love Humdinger xx4

That's excellent news about the contract that means there'd be a conflict with nasty boss. She sounds like a real piece of work.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

The Many Faces of Narcissistic Boss
Narcissistic Boss was sweetness and light during the contract call 🙄 No mention was made of her behaviour during the previous call or the fact that she has delayed Mr F's holiday money hitting our account by a month. She wants Mr F to take on a project which makes no sense. It looks to me as though she just wants to keep him at her beck and call. We've asked to see the deliverables but the bottom line is, we really don't want to work with her unless the scope and duration is super tight. Mr F has offered to provide technical advice to her and the team but I think we'll leave it at that.
I went out into the world yesterday for the first time in about three weeks. FDawg went for his bath so I settled myself down in the pub as usual for a light lunch with my book club read while I waited. I was only out for a couple of hours in total but was exhausted for the rest of the day. I'm obviously stil recovering 🥱 Mr F was left to his own devices for lunch (I think baked beans were involved) and we had leftover Haddock & Leek Au Gratin for supper.
Today has been more productive 😁:- the usual mile walk with FDawg and Mr F
- an hour of Tai Chi
- a few chores completed
- Classic Minestrone Soup for lunch
- Easy Cheasy Frittata with salad for supper
- we're out at a friends for a dinner party tomorrow evening so I made some amaretto fudge to take along... only it hasn't set yet 😲 I did get the ingredients for a different recipe should the first fail but we'll see how the first does in the fridge overnight
- another disaster followed when I tried to make a wholemeal loaf in the breadmaker but forgot to put the paddle in - rookie error 😆 The result was not at all edible 😆
Have a fab weekend all

Hope your fudge sets Fortune? I love both fudge and amaretto, so if it doesn't set, feel free to send it over here and I'll just eat it with a spoon 😋
Rolling my eyes at Narcissistic Boss 🙄 Hope she gets what's coming to her!5 -
Just looked at the recipes for the Frittata and hope you got an adult to help you with it 😉3

Unfortunately it didn't set properly @Cheery_Daff🙁 However, it was the perfect consistency for rolling into balls and coating with dessicated coconut, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and white chocolate and making into fudge truffles 🥳 Mr F has quality checked the results and says they are up to a sufficient standard to give as a gift.
I'm sure Narcissistic Boss is a very unhappy person already and karma visits her frequently.teapot2 said:Just looked at the recipes for the Frittata and hope you got an adult to help you with it 😉
