Sounds as though you are on the mend too @Cheery_Daff which is great news 👍  It was certainly an 'interesting' night and for two very good causes so we're glad we went.

Horrid weather is indeed a great excuse for staying home and doing fun stuff 😁

Thank goodness I was not born with perfect pitch @LadyWithAPlan - it would have made the evening excrutiating 😆  But as you say, important to celebrate musicians and charities and we did have fun.

The Masala Carrots recipe is one of my favourites.  I use a tin of chopped tomatoes instead of the fresh ones and omit the water.  We get four portions out of the recipe that way.

Indulging

I got to spend an entire day on me yesterday 😁  Mr F went off on his hike so I had the house to myself and took full advantage.  I spent the morning working on a painting I'm part-way through.  Stopped for a sandwich lunch and an episode of $ewing Bee (I'm going to re-watch them from the start).  Then cut out and marked up the pattern pieces for a toile of a dress I'm hoping to wear on New Year's Eve.  There was sausage pie left over for supper which we had with peas and roasted carrots.  Then a lazy evening browsing interesting patterns and fabrics for future projects.

Bliss 😁

I completely forgot about the Christmas cake but Mr F picked up some ingredients for me on his way home so I could make it this morning.  It's in the oven as I type 🎂

Mr F is due to have a Teams meeting with Narcissistic Boss any minute.  He wrote to her last week declining the long term project she'd suggested and asking whether she wanted to go ahead with the call but received no response.  So we'll see whether she calls in.  We're hoping not 😆  In the meantime, Mr F has had another offer of a long term project from a new organisation.

There's leftover squash soup for supper.  It'll be an early one as we're off to a book signing in the big town.

Thank you @savingholmes.  I'm hoping dress will be wearable - amazing is still a bit of a stretch for my beginner level skills 😆

Of course she didn't @rtandon27 😂  Mr F gave her 7 minutes grace and then ended the call.  One of Mr F's former team contacted him for a catch up and said Narcissistic Boss is  notorious for not turning up to calls and meetings.  Not that he was taking it personally anyway 😆

Making Hay While the Sun Shines 🌞

It's been a busy week and I've made good progress - taking advantage of my returned energy, in case it runs out again 😆

Health

• I'm fully recovered from Covid now and my blood pressure has returned to normal 🥳
• I've not lost any more weight but I've not gained any either which I'm counting as a win as we've had a lot of social stuff on
• we all went for a very long walk this morning to take advantage of the crisp, dry weather.

Wealth

• Still no news on the business bank account which is a pain as Mr F's first contract starts on Monday.  I'll give the bank a call then to check on progress
• FDawg has had his annual health check.  He is getting a bit stiff so the vet recommended some supplements for his joints.  Blimey they are expensive 😲  Fortunately the vet was happy to recommend a cheaper alternative and I found some with 30% off in the Bl@ck Frid@y sale so have stocked up.  HIs insurance and vet plan have increased as well so he's costing an extra £45 a month in total.  He's 8 now and considered a 'senior'.
• FDawg had his monthly spa day at the groomers too.

Happiness

• We've had some date days 🥳  A book signing in a cathedral, a ballet, a lunch out at our local pub and a supper out at our local brewery.  The book sigining and ballet tickets were purchased when we were still salaried so it doesn't feel as though we've spent too much 😉
• I chaired a writing group meeting - the last one this year as we're all too busy to meet in December.  We've agreed to structure our meetings around a book on writing going forward so I will need to buy one.

We've not made plans for the weekend as we thought we'd need some recovery time after all the above.  I've been trying to catch up on the washing and tackling the Everest of ironing piles today.  I've caught up on the housework now but there are still some things that were neglected whilst I was ill and need some attention.  Tomorrow I'll indulge in some painting and sewing again.

Fortune...re Fdawg's stiffness...try cider vinegar. Can either add the liquid form to food or capsules if easier. It's great for stiffness and arthritis. I've used it on various pets..even a horse. Should see some benefit after a couple of weeks. Plenty of info online too if you want to research
