I can’t believe that FDawg is 8 years old. I can remember when you first had him as a pup and was hard work. We have got a puppy this year and I know what you went through. He is getting a lot easier now at 9 months. It was like having a new born baby again 🤣x2025 Decluttering 9127⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Blowing a Hooley! 🌬
...but at least it's stopped raining 😆 I am so fed up with this weather.
Having agreed not to exchange presents with most people this year, I haven't given much thought to Christmas, forgetting that there are still things that will need to be done 😲 So I've had to hurry myself up about it. I've also been preoccupied (and getting a little stressed) about our lack of a business bank account. However, that's all sorted as of yesterday so I feel I can move forward again.
Health- I'm walking FDawg as often as possible. Poor thing is getting very wet and muddy as our field is saturated and the orchard, which usually stays dry, is quite wet too now. We resorted to playing hide and seek in the house yesterday afternoon as it was torrential 😲 He has great fun running up and down trying to find me. Thank you to everyone for the advice on joint care
- my shoulder is almost healed, just a bit stiff every now and then
- and my blood pressure issue seems to have resolved itself.
Wealth- we have a business bank account 🥳 The app for the digital bank we applied to froze part-way through the application, although there was no way of knowing that until I chased them up having not heard from them for two weeks. They weren't able to fix it but suggested I send in the long list of documents they wanted to see by email. By that point, I'd completely lost confidence in them and didn't know how I was going to operate this app only account without an app. So I applied to one of the big high street banks instead. Two weeks later the high street bank hadn't even looked at our application but said they'd fast track it only to turn us down an hour later 😲 I'd read that it was easier to open a business acount with a bank you already have an account with so I tried our personal bank. The deal wasn't as good as some being advertised but, by this stage, it was more important to just get an account open. 4 days later we have an account 🥳 And all they needed from us was an application form and a signed agreement. Thank goodness as I was getting quite worried
- we'll now be able to invoice for the 7 days work Mr F has already completed. We've set aside Monday morning to get that organised. Which means we might get paid something in the next month 🥳
- Mr F has 7 days of confirmed work for January
- our budget is holding and we haven't had to raid savings yet 👍 However, I still have to buy groceries for Christmas (just the two of us) and New Year (2 friends coming for 5 days and an extra 1 on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day)
- I've bought the material and notions to make a dress for New Year's Eve. The fabric is washed but that's as far as I've got so far so. Better get a wriggle on or I'll be going in my birthday suit 😂
Happiness- I've attended a couple of Christmas events but I'm not feeling very Christmassy yet. I'm planning to put the decorations up this afternoon so, hopefully, that will help.
- I made two Christmas gifts for friends this morning which was a great excuse to get my paints out
- Mr F has been away for work and, as he was half-way there already, went straight on to visit Uncle F. So I haven't seen him for a week. However, that's it for December so we can just relax now for Christmas.
Right. Time to get that tree up. I need carols, some sweet treats and a large glass of Baileys and I need them now 😆
Hope all is well and festive your end 🎄

Glad you finally got the business bank account up and running. I had quite a bit of faff getting mine, one bank wanted to see deeds for the property I owned to run the business 🤣 eh as a sole trader I'm renting an office not buying a building. I got one with the Spanish Bank in the end with no hassle and have had it for years.
Not feeling very festive here I must say, bah humbug. Good news that your health is on the up6 -

Blimey @teapot2 ! The digital bank wanted to see a current contract which, as a start up, we didn't have. Also that's a confidential and commercially sensitive document which I didn't feel comfortable sharing. I know there was a lot of fraud during the pandemic with people starting companies just to get Bounce Bank loans and many of the big banks have come under fire for allowing money laundering so maybe they are all over-tightening their processes as a result?

The Wanderer Returns
Mr F got home in time for lunch 🥳 I'm glad he's back as I need his help to put up the last of the Christmas decorations but I'll talk to him about that tomorrow as he's tired and grumpy at the moment. Uncle F's house is not at all comfortable apparently 🙄
I put the tree and most of the decorations up yesterday and a few more this morning. The makings of Christmas Pudding and Candy Cane vodkas are infusing in the kitchen. Uncle F sent presents so those are under the tree... but I'm still not feeling it. Maybe I need some time for the glitter and lights to soak in 😆
We had Mushroom Soup with a wholemeal, cheese sandwich for lunch. The plan for supper is Prawn & Aubergine Curry.
Still not started my party dress and we've a busy week ahead. Might need a contingency plan 🤭
Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

So glad you're feeling better Fortune, and that Mr F has returned home. You are most impressive making your own dress! Your house is sounding a lot more festive than ours right now 😊 I'm sure Mr F will be feeling far more cheerful tomorrow after all your ministrations 😊5

Thank you @Cheery_Daff - although the dress isn't made yet so you might want to reserve judgement 😂😂😂 Mr F is indeed feeling more cheerful although he pulled a muscle in his back.bringing his suitcase into the house 😲 The house usually feels different with the decorations up but not this year for some reason - I am glittering at every opportunity to try and find some Christmas spirit (nail varnish last night 😁). I'm perfectly cheerful - just not festive... yet 🎄

Very Merry
We sent out our first invoice yesterday! 🎉🥳🎉 I'm not sure when it will get paid though as, despite signing the contract with the client weeks ago, they haven't set us up as a supplier on their systems 🙄 Anyhoo, it does feel as though we are getting closer to getting some income.
Mr F and I spent the whole of yesterday working 😲 Mr F had reports to write and I had to start getting to grips with the new accounting software (not easy and I'm fairly computer literate). I did learn enough to send out the invoice which is the most important bit 😆 Tomorrow, I'll set things up so we can pay Mr F's expenses and refund ourselves our start up costs... when we actually get paid something of course 😆
Now I have an idea of what's going to come in and what our expenses are, I've been able to release some of the personal money I've been holding back to pay business costs. So Mr F and I have a little something to play with over Christmas 😁
Last night was the last WI meeting of the year. We knitted blanket squares while people read out Christmas poems and stories. I dressed with a little sparkle and even indulged in my first mince pie... still not feeling it 😆 It was nice driving home through all the twinkly lights though 🎄 I have a lunch today with our dining group so will don sequins and cross my fingers I find my Christmas spirit there.
Happy Tuesday all

Glad it's not just me who is trying to find their Christmas sparkle. I love Christmas but feel like I'm just going through the motions at the moment. I wonder if it's because Christmas (not the day it's self) is happening earlier every year. Quite alot people round us have had their lights and trees up since the beginning of the month. I'm sure I'll find it(my sparkle) hiding under a rock somewhere.
Enjoy your lunch out
