DWP were very nice and 'only' a half hour wait/call but said they had no idea why NI would say to call them and there wasn't anything they could do about it. Looks like I'm going to have to get my quill out (not a euphemism) and complain in the hope of getting any clarification about whether or not I need to/can pay
Other minor things today:

Decided yesterday and today not to open the tempting Plum, Yorkshire or Natwest accounts as don't want any more credit checks on my rating, I'm a bad enough investment for a bank already and I don't want to drag our mortgage (when we get it) down even more than my general existence already will!
Managed a 20 minute walk but too exhausted for much else after my taxing day (pun entirely intended). Found 1p on the street
Mum has volunteered to cook cauliflower cheese for dinner so I will see if I can get a few more small bits done but more likely, will sit down with a glass of warming red wine and read

This is exactly why I hate phoning anywhere. How frustrating for you 😖 Hope you enjoy your meal and wine.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

If I do have to phone any companies such as energy suppliers, DWP etc, I check beforehand their opening hours & then ring about a minute after the start of their day. This way, I usually get to talk to them without a long wait. KA2

@EssexHebridean, am I right in thinking that your starting point for sewing is basically a French knot?
@PennysIntoPounds, growling on your behalf about the pension contributions thing ….!

So sleepy. Soooo sleepy. Lots of aching and really had to drag myself out of bed
Suspect I may be entering the premenstrual phase of the month as I shouted at the shower curtain for touching me, shouted at a Costa email for calling it a 'treat' for me to spend 75% of a cost, and shouted at an Insta video for saying 'how I styled it'. You didn't 'style it', you put a picture up.

Shower and hairwash but shoulders so sore I didn't rinse properly and now my hair looks like I have dandruff cos there's still bits of product in it. Not rinsing it again though so will just have to wear a hat and not see anyone
30 minute round walk to Lidl to claim my free loaf. Thought I might fall asleep walking
Afternoon spent on working on an actual client job, whoohoo
Couple of surveys
Made myself do another 30 minute walk to get wine and the free paper for the crossword, so you can probably guess how I'm spending my Friday night
Going to go and prep a nutritious and comforting pasta bake then hope to get some small bits done but forgiving myself if not!

Nothing wrong with spending Friday night with wine and the crossword. I’m at my best knowledge wise when I’ve had a drink. Won a fair few quizzes after a couple of glasses 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I'm doing surprisingly well for a first look @Sun_Addict so high hopes, which I expect will be dashed when I get none tomorrow 😁
Ooh I wonder if there's a regular quiz night you can go to once you're 'retired'...0 -
As previously mentioned my brain doesn't really excel at crosswords so I'll just have a glass of wine. I was polite and had a small glass with a friend last night so tonight I'll have another glass and then return to dryish January, if it wasn't such a looong month it would be over by now and I'd have completed dry January. I'll start again tomorrow and go through til 31st which by my reckoning is the equivalent of a month in the summer.
hope you sleep well tonight and wake up energised like a North London jumping bean3 -
Thanks @Blackcats, it is such a drag having exhausted days just because of stoopid chronic pain condition, I want to do the things! Or at least not be doing them because I had a great night out 😂
You're doing extremely well with your dryish Jan, and you're right, January does last for at least three months.
Since you're having a glass of wine, and everyone (me and @Sun_Addict) knows wine makes one do cryptic crosswords gooder, have a ponder on this clue I'm stuck on...
'Not yet out on the table?'
9 letters: C _ N _ C _ O _ _
I initially thought it might be 'contained' as in not out and containers for food not being served yet, but I'm fairly sure all the letters I've got in are right. Thoroughly stuck!0 -
