I am not au fait with subsection 4.2b of the 1984 county revision (part two) on the permitted depth a tradesperson's lorry's tyre tread can be between 9.17am and 2.19pm on the third Wednesday in November, not including leap years, please see subsection 5.5 of the amended 1986 decision by the local authorityNot au fait? But that’s my favourite part. And as for Subsection 5.5? Phwoaaarr! 💪1

Very good use of apostrophes in subsection 4.2B - "tradeperson's lorry's tread" could be a grammatical problem for some planning departments. It does of course mean that to fully comply then only one trade person and their lorry can be on site on the third Wednesday in November but as this is a leap year technically you can breach all of that subsection.1

Oh heck, winding back a few years I'd have been able to answer your question on Self employed voluntary contributions but I'm out of date now. And of course this isn't the time of year to be calling The SA helpline for info, is it!
I will say though - and feel free to dismiss this bit of info if it doesn't serve you - that as a rule the SA online thingy opens up from around the 12th April, so when I had to do one I always did it fairly soon after that and just got it pout of the way - I also learned that End of April and May are about the two best moths to have to call for advice - as almost nobody needs them for anything around then! My original reason for doing it earlier was that my view was the sooner I did it after the end of the tax year the less chance their was of me forgetting or losing things! It was definitely nice to not have to join in the end of January stress-fest though!
Oh - and the 1986 decision was superceded when the new Tradesperson's Lorry Tyres regulations 2007 were brought in - that's where you're going wrong. It basically threw the whole 1947 Act out of the window with the exception of the 1968 Amendment specifically referring to Thursdays in months when shellfish should not be eaten - so not relevant to your application. Thank you for your planning permission wisdom @Blackcats and @EssexHebridean 😂
@EssexHebridean I have fortunately filed the tax return, I always try to do it as soon as possible in April as I don't need The Tax Fear all year! But thought I'd get my interest in my pot and pay my NI in Jan, and now the website is saying last year is a full year...
If I understand it correctly, if you earn between ~6k and ~11k in a year they consider you to have paid but I don't see how I can have paid my NI (or tax) when I haven't given them any money! I am so confused.1 -
What a cold grey Wednesday, really had to drag myself out of bed!

Went up the road to get milk and turned it into a 30 minute walk.
Annoyingly Co-op did the thing again of not giving member price before the weekly offer reduction. I asked a member of staff and she said it definitely should, so something to watch out for there. Got the discount

Swallowed a frog and responded to an email regarding my complaint about how bad the housing association has been. It won't have any effect but at least I'll know I stuck up for the likes of me
Inspired by @foxgloves I was very brave and attempted to sew a rip in my coat pocket. Very proud of myself. I mean, I've done a s*** job but I'm still proud of trying.
People who can sew (sewers isn't what I wanted to call you!), how do you get the end knot where it should be?
Whenever I attempt to sew (literally once a decade), my knot always comes up too high. I am so cack handed 😭
And is it the same principle for a button, as that's what needs doing next...
Rewarded myself with tea (proper you'll be glad to hear @EssexHebridean) and biscuits a family friend had given us
Went for a 30 minute walk and purposefully didn't take my purse so I couldn't decide pub or shop was the destination!
Wussy situps
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to 1k but I would also like a Roberts Radio (still)

Btw @EssexHebridean (this is a very heavy EssexHebridean posting session!) and other beer fans, Full Circle Brew Co's Blackened Sky coffee porter is delicious. Bit stronger than I'd usually have at 5% but fine for one small can1

I’m with you on the sewing @PennysIntoPounds and probably attempt it with the same frequency that you do 🤣.

Excellent tip on the Porter - I shall keep an eye out for that, thank you!Let’s see if I can explain this - to fasten off when sewing, stick the needle into the fabric and out again almost immediately, but just leave the tip poking through - you’re aiming to pick up just a few threads. Then take the cotton you’re sewing with and wind it round the exposed tip of the needle - just a couple of times. Push the needle on through, and use the fingers of the hand that isn’t dealing with the needle to hold those loops of cotton tight. As you continue to pull through, the cotton loops through itself and forms a knot - and because you’ve been holding it tight against the fabric, that knot should be both tight and snug against the fabric you were sewing. If it’s a repair which will be visible you want to make sure that all happens on the wrong side of the fabric - and it’s often best if possible to fasten off into a seam or the non showing part of a hem - that isn’t always doable though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Oh blimey, I don't understand that process @EssexHebridean, but tbf, I didn't really understand the question either. It must be a problem I don't have then, so I'm not going to worry about it. If the mend isn't going to be too visible, I wouldn't worry too much what it looks like, as it's the strength of the repair which matters most. I don't sew much. I can make curtains, I've re-covered an armchair & have made a few garments which never fit properly, & other practical things such as drawstring bags & hair scrunchies, but mostly when I get out my sewing jar, I'm mending something.
