I enjoyed that book too, Pip, also the film. I wanted to bang their heads together!
F2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 5.9kg/30kg

Had a bit of a glum freak out about our foreseeable future, in that I foresee the council continuing to make our lives a misery and taking a huge amount of time to approve these planning consents. It's already going to be enough stress and money and insecurity building and take about two years. I can't bear the thought of the council adding another year onto that.
But I have to accept there will be times when I'm anxious and miserable about the whole situation, and just hold my nerve.
Approx three more years for approx thirty years of relative security and having options (fingers crossed for no big emergencies). We won't be able to afford to achieve that any other way.
I have to keep on focusing on the small things I can do. So, today's mse things:
Admin comping tidying
£10 off shop in Lidl app!
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 2k but I would also like an Italian food and wine hamper
Shower and hairwash
Good walk recycling plastic packaging and getting the free paper for the weekend crossword
Treating myself to a couple of pub beers (at a decent for London price) for some 'happily alone but feeling out in the world' time and making a start on the crossword
Hope you all have a lovely Friday evening and have mse things to look forward to this weekend x

I hope your glum prediction about the council is unfounded 🤞
Definitely good to focus on what you can control 👍
Will be round at yours when you win the Italian food and wine hamper 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thank you @Sun_Addict and surely one of these hampers has to arrive soon right?! 😂
If there's been a delay in the post and I've won the (rough estimate) million I've entered competitions for, I'll be able to build a warm and aesthetically pleasing gaff out of the hampers, and live off the contents for a good while! Will let you know when the Italian themed house-hamper (hampouse?) warming party is 😁0 -
Sat
Didn't get up til midday! Not sure if I'm terribly lazy or terribly exhausted
But have done:
Admin comping tidying
Got paid for a job so money to current account and share to tax pot
Got paid £6 from Vinted so that's gone in the flat pot
Also sent £50 premium bonds win money to flat pot
Got paid £10 from a survey provider so that's gone in flat pot with share to tax pot
Bought laptop! Went through TCB and bought it on Mr PIP's card that does cashback. Fortunately it occurred to me that they'd likely send a code to his phone so we did it on a call.
He's still feeling rubbish, poor thing.
Also did some silly little tasks that keep getting moved from to-do list to to-do list that I knew full well would take about five minutes each
Did quarter wussy situps which is really quite wussy but my body is feeling tentative and I don't want to cause further damage. At least I showed willing
Have prepped a hefty salad to go with (still not take-away 😁) pizza for dinner
I did not however do any steps so that has not helped in my aim to catch up on the quite a lot of steps I feel I owe myself. Hopefully tomorrow will be a nice day for some strolling

When all your delayed hamper wins arrive, you will be able to eat and share the contents with the Tuppence club and use the wicker hampers to fence the garden at your new home. Add it to the planting plan and I'm sure the planning department will be very impressed.Well done on getting through some tasks from your to-do list. Our WTL (w**ky task list) won't fit on the noticeboard anymore and some of the tasks are ridiculously quick such as "put torch on charge". Torch is now on charge - crossed off the list 🥳2
-
That is deffo the key to getting that planning consent ticked off @Blackcats
I laughed at your WTL, and you bothering to write down 'put torch on charge' instead of just doing it, sounds like some of the things on my lists!
In allocating the little bits of money to the pots I realised I have now reached another £100, just nine more of those to get to the 5k mark, and then only 95 thousands to get to 100k. How hard can it be 😂4 -
Up at a half decent time for a Sunday
Tidy admin
30 min walk including up a big hill
Used free Greggs pastry coupon
Found 1p
Comping
Online sales updates
Another 30 minute walk, to Lidl to use my £10 voucher on essentials (wine, coffee, and grapes)- you can't use it on wine! Still got a few days left though so will have a proper think about what stocks to get in
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but would also like a posh skincare and fancy jumper package
Another 20 minute walk posting a card for mum and turning it into a walk round the block
Very much flagging now though so will chill for a bit then see if there are a few more little items I can get off the to-do list, otherwise they can join their buddies on the ongoing lists

I was looking over my last month's worth of diary in the hope of finding out if I'd meant to allocate the (hopefully never to be asked for) Housing Association money I'd put aside, and saw that I hadn't said hello and welcome to @Slowdown so my many apologies and please chip in whenever you fancy!
I am also reminded to enquire of @foxgloves if you took your coins to be banked, and extra reminded to remind @Sun_Addict to book your smear test, I know there's much going on but your health in all ways has to be a priority x
And I hadn't allocated the remaining few hundred quid happily, the options were flat fund, bolstering current account, and winter break on the Shepherd Neame deal.
We're not doing winter break as we don't know when council consents will need paying for
I'm leaving the bulk of it where it is so I can use it to bolster current account when I need it or if a better savings opportunity arises. It's on instant access rate so not huge but slightly better than current account at the moment
However as it was a bit of a Brucie Bonus in that it was money I didn't know if I'd need and then didn't, it felt right to send over the uneven balance of £92.54 to the flat pot. Only £1.40 to go to the next hundred! See, how hard can that 100k be 😂

Thanks for the reminder - I did forget 😬 I wish they would just send an appointment like the mammogram people do.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
