  • Went for a half hour walk

Looked up laptops, waiting for Mr PIP to feel up to giving it a quick look in case I've missed/blatantly not understood basic tech info

Had another going over of the blankets. Of course now the one I want for the sofa is the cat's new favourite thing to sit on after ignoring it for ages

30 mins carpet walk whilst reading a small book, that has been accepted by ziffit for a whole pound! Exciting times

Had someone pick up an Olio listing and also offered him some plant cuttings which he was pleased with

A ten minute walk to pick up a loaf of Olio bread, Hovis seed sensations, very fancy. We've got a bread on the go so that's gone in the freezer

Dinner will be from the freezer; a yellow sticker hot curry for Mr PIP and a yellow sticker cauliflower cheese for me, think I'll bake a big tomato with it too
  • Hello @PennysIntoPounds
We have a dog that would literally eat anything (Labrador) if we didn’t nail it down. He has perfected his sad face but we are unmoved (mainly in memory of previous visits to the vet as a consequence of various escapades- the worst one was eating a bag of potatoes- including plastic- which he found under some shrubs on a walk).  Your cat sounds as if it has everything under control 🤣.  I love the blanket choices - that’s so like a cat isn’t it.

Hope you feel better and get some good sleep.

  • Thanks @Less_Talk_and_More_Action and what a day that must have been for your Lab. I wonder how much information they communicate through wees, you can just imagine dogs going to the Important Intel Lamp Post and being like 'cor, lads, Doggo LTAMA found an entire bag of spuds under a shrub, and ate them all plastic included. What a top dog'
  • 🤣🤣🤣 @PennysIntoPounds. He wasn’t laughing at the time.
As you say so funny thinking what different smells tell them.  I’m sure ours frequently thinks he’s not going to !!!!!! his leg somewhere because he can smell that stupid dog from round the corner!!
He ate a disgusting black banana skin the other day - that didn’t seem to do any harm.  More natural than a plastic bag I guess!
He loves walking down the road on recycling day and food bin days 🤣.   Just in case….

We had one dog whose favourite snack was nasty wet dead grass after the council had cut it, another who loved other dogs poo ( never her own and the one we have now eats anything he can find.
  • An even more apt name then @dawnybabes,  we do seem to enjoy a bit of polite filth 😂
I am VERY pleased to have learnt this, ta 😁
  • Well it is freezing and the internet isn't working and I was woken up by upstairs four times last night and we're both still unwell.

Not a lot I can do productive-wise without wifi other than shower and walk and I don't want to take my clothes off or go outside so I guess I'll just sulk, like the full grown adult I am

@PennysIntoPounds - Sorry to hear you are still having a grim poorly time. I will freely admit that I read your post as, "I don't want to take my clothes off outside" & wondered momentarily if you were staging some kind of protest!
Was quite relieved to track back & read it properly!
Yes, it's a much colder day isn't it? I have quite thick denier black tights on, plus a pair of hand-knitted socks but as soon as I have signed off my laptop, I intend to find some thick hiking socks to put over the top as my feet are still really cold. I shall also be finding my fingerless mittens & wearing them indoors until my hands warm up. The central heating is on & I am not usually one of these ultra chilly mortals, it's just that I think we got rather used to 'warmish dull grey wet" having been the default weather setting here for really quite a lot of weeks. I prefer a colder crisper winter, actually. Ash is on the living room window sill but with both paws dangling over the edge onto the radiator - these ex-feral cats do like their home comforts.
I don't know that the answer is with the clomping around upstairs, but I have lived in a downstairs flat  so I can sympathise at least.

  • Thank you for your sympathy @foxgloves. I will most certainly not be taking my clothes off outside even if it might scare the internet into working!
(I'm writing this on phone on intermittent reception/data btw, just in case anyone thought 'um PIP, you know this is the internet right' 😁, but can't do any of the wifi-y things on the to-do list.)

Have done grumpy half wussy situps, had a grumpy shower and hairwash, had not quite as grumpy cheese on toast, and am now trying to resist going back to bed
