Bejesus, that government alert on my phone has woken me right up from my Friday evening chill!

Obviously not starting wildfires is extremely important but for my phone to start blaring and have the screen taken over, I thought it was going to be 'hide in the basement you don't have' territory. I wonder if the amount of heart attacks has suddenly gone up in Britain

I didn’t get that alert but Mr SA did. I wonder if it’s because I keep my phone on silent on days I’m in the office?

My phone was also on silent, but the alarm for the alert overrode it, how odd. Hopefully yours doesn't go off later, Mr PIP said he was on the tube and it was interesting seeing commuters getting it in turn, I guess due to how good their network provider's signal is.

Next time it happens, if we remember, I task Team Tuppence if in a public place to go round making a list of who got it first and last so we can all join the first and not join the last 😁

I got the alert, but as it was in Welsh I hadn't got a clue what it was about! It was a bit unnerving, as we recently had a large wildfire lasting several weeks that was not far from us.

Oh no @kayannie! I mean, I can't help laughing a little bit now I and you know you're safe because getting an emergency government alert in a language you can't read is kind of hilarious (afterwards), but please flag that to your local MP. I'm all for the preservation of languages and them being pushed as commonplace heritage, but not at the cost of people's nerves let alone lives!

Since our move to Wales, it's been suggested (by Welsh speakers) that I learn Welsh. It's a very difficult language to learn & I think I'd run out of life before I learned the basics, let alone be able to read a government alert!

I think I was in the garden when the alert went off so that’s why I didn’t hear it. The same thing happened when they tested it. So I still haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing one 😆
