  • I do not cope well with wrapping @beanielou 😁

    Rest of essentials done:
Steps going to Lidl for bargain wine, the shelves had been ransacked, it was a good thing I knew where their secret diminished display stock was hiding
Also returned the no longer needed crackers which I was pleased with as would have been easy to think 'oh it's just a couple of quid and they'll probably get eaten'

    One solitary Lidl receipt survey

More steps delivering a card on behalf of mum as her back is particularly sore

Have filed and painted nails so I feel vaguely pretty for Christmas

And that is it for Christmas eve, now to select a fabulous outfit and go to this champagne party

Hope you all have a great evening x

Oh that looks lovely @beanielou, what a nice glass! I love good vintage glasses, shame I'm so clumsy 😁

An extremely pleasant evening indeed was had 🥂
Mum was feeling too tired from having a cold and her back aching to come out but used her time to do lots of Christmas dinner prep so that's a very nice head start on tomorrow's cooking

I'm staying up to toast Christmas day with mum and Mr PIP then me and my very sore shoulder are crashing out- and hopefully sleeping well and dreaming of nice things, like all the mse food leftovers plus the wrapping paper that can be saved for next year 😁
  • Have a Merry Christmas. Happy dreams of wrapping paper, I can relate to that.
  • Happy Christmas Team Tuppence and all MSErs, hope you're all having a thoroughly lovely day, and enjoying eating and drinking and entertaining yourselves with things you found for good prices!
And if it's all a bit much, tomorrow is another day and you can be brilliant then x

Happy Christmas @PennysIntoPounds and all of Team Tuppence.
hopefully next year we can cheer on your Grand Designs building project with our reformed and still reforming MSE hints and tips.  When you start telling us that you need a £24,000 copper bath or a £36,000 kitchen splash back we will remind you that you used to dream about recycling wrapping paper.
  • I do actually passionately desire one of those stand-alone bath tubs, preferably with little lion legs, but think it might be a wee bit of a stretch of our very limited budget and space/plumbing access available...

  • I can 100% recommend shaving your head as a cure for having to wash your hair 🤣🤣🤣
Having said that, I will grow it back at some point but I think I'll be investing in dry shampoo until my shoulders are enjoying movement again
  • It is tempting @WelshmansDaughter 😁

I have done admin, comping and tidying and am now going to go back to bed and read some of my Christmas books. I'm not used to allowing myself to be lazy but I could do with a day doing nothing and there's not a better excuse than boxing day! Will make sure to catch up on steps throughout the week

I like the sound of a day doing nothing but from past experience in reality I hate it. Having broken both legs in the last 7 years (not at the same time 😆) it’s been officially confirmed I’m not good at being lazy no matter how tempting it sounds.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
