Hurrah for the wins. A friend bought a new build as a buy to let recently and when they rang the council to set up payment for the void they got told that there was no council tax due for the first few months as it was empty. This was the void gap after the builder had legally sold it, and prior to the tenants moving in. There was a letter from the council to say they proposed to start council tax from X date, and an option to appeal if the property was unoccupied. Water meter was the same.

Great news about your wins, a little bit of good news is definitely due. All my building work is finished, I could have cried tears of joy when the last skip was driven away. Here’s hoping you don’t have that much longer to go with yours, but sadly I wouldn’t hold my breath as it’s one thing after another for you.

Thanks, and very glad for your friend @redofromstart and that's encouraging though I don't think our council are that nice and I have a feeling no allowances are made if we're the ones building and moving in. We have (politely, though its not deserved) reiterated to SiL and BiL that we can't afford council tax and rent and build mortgage, so if they could please not drop us in the manure just because its more convenient for them, that would be lovely

Thanks and hooray for your build work being finished @amber03, are you happy with everything? What were all the things you got done? It does rather seem to be one thing after another with this build but I'm trying to remember yesterday's feeling of being so grateful for good health news although it's ludicrously easy to go back to business as usual i.e. grumpy and stressed 😁

    May Aims:

    Be chill

Don't worry about things not being done if not essential. Would rather have had things like wallpaper and curtains ready for us to move in, but it is okay for us to have some big jobs to do after moving in, to keep our sanity now

    Any monies:

    Mr PIP's birthday pot

    Next year's LISA pot

My North London pot because I am on build strike 😂

I will however also try to start allocating any 'extra' into an 'oh my days we owe a lot of money' pot

It is Mum's birthday month, I have invigilating shifts, I have cool spec work to ponder, so going to try to be calm and peaceful and gently productive

Do any charity shops around you have curtains? Ours tend to have a stock of them

Well done on your wins. I think you also deserve to win that stay in East Sussex.

Book and snooker is well deserved.

Thanks @jwil, would be a lovely win though I won't be cross if someone else gets it who can utilise it better as I think at the moment if we went on a mini break we would probably just sleep!

Allo @Sun_Addict, hope you're having a fab time. Thanks for dropping in to show off that you're on holiday haha. Much deserved though, enjoy it x
