Hi Beanielou, it's an Energy Performance Certificate. Tells you how energy efficient a property is from A to G. You need one when you are selling or renting out a property now. Costs about £80 down in London. they also tell you what your property could get to if you spent a fortune improving it with insulation etc…

Hi PIP, if BIL and SIL have moved in does this mean the water situation has been resolved? Sorry if I missed the update but I thought you were still waiting for them to get their act together.

Thank you. I think it’s maybe part of the home report in Scotland.

Wot @Wanna_Bee_Free said @beanielou. We need one to have the house signed off.
@OpalGirl Thames finished on Mon but told them and not us, and SiL and BiL didn't bother letting us know either until we asked several times for an update
Not a good start to the day as I woke up and cried. The build is sh*t, money is sh*t, everyone is being horrible, I am premenstrual, I have a medical appt tomorrow I'm anxious about, my cpc hurts, and I don't want to move house or area, and everything feels so bloody constant. I appreciate I sound petulant and that the only solution is to get a grip and get on with things, but I'm just going to sulk and feel sorry for myself for a bit longer.

Sending huge, huge hugs. This is a period of unrelenting stress and difficulty and you have been remarkably resilient so far. You are allowed to feel carp and utterly mis, I think anybody would.
Take some time off today, focus on prepping questions for your appointment tomorrow and just rest or distract yourself (I recommend the Austen series in 1-player as a soul reset), as seems most helpful.

Glad the water situation has finally been resolved but that is so poor that Thames (and your BIL and SIL) didn't let you know.

Sounds like BIL / SIL need a not-so-gentle reminder that if you are all meant to be rubbing along nicely in adjacent houses before all that long, actually treating you like equal parties to the transaction who deserve a modicum of respect is probably a good way to go…
Absolutely agree that a bit of sulking time seems entirely reasonable. As and when you start bringing yourself out of it (dare I suggest a physical time limit to avoid it dragging on and ending up with you feeling resentful of the sulking time?) then remind yourself quite how far you've come - even if it isn't quite ready for living in at this precise moment, you've built a whole actual house for your future selves which is pretty damned amazing, to be honest. The amount of it you have done by sheer gritted-teeth determination is even more amazing.

Sulk away for a bit and be kind to your premenstrual self. Hope your medical appt brings some good news.

Be kind to yourself. I have immense admiration for how you are getting through this. Sorry I don’t have any more words of wisdom. 🤗 xx
