Re outside lights. I already have one but the chat here has made me think that rather than turn it on now and then I can buy a dawn to dusk low energy bulb. I don't know if that would work for your home too? I live in a business area where shops keep outdoor lighting (although no bright motion lights) on

Testing an Easter egg - what an awful task 🤣
After years of not having driveway gates we finally had them replaced when someone stole a solar powered tree from the drive. I think closing them at night is a psychological barrier to someone thinking of casually wandering in.

Very tempting for many of the people we've had to deal with @badmemory! To be fair to the builder and his team, their work is good and they turn up every day, it's just that his communication is poor. But we're not in a mad rush and he wants to finish the build, so up to him how helpful he is really.
Messaged him today and asked if the PIR needed to be mains or solar/battery. He replied saying that the smoke alarms and heat sensor needed to be mains/battery.
So he has not answered the reasonable question about something he told us to buy, that only he knows what fittings are available for.
And despite my constant complaining on here that I have no understanding of what we're being asked to do, even I wasn't under the impression that the indoors landing smoke alarms and heat sensor would be solar powered.
I sometimes wonder why I'm so tired and in a state of permanent stress, and then I remember full well why 😂
