    Admin comping tidying
Another entry on the gumtree comp
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to 5k but also a Jimmy Choo bundle to feel fancy

Lunchtine local walk with Mr PIP, got a yellow sticker item in Tesco and that gets us entry into their Christmas comp and he got free hummus from M&S in their advent comp

Entered the receipt for the Tesco comp, eventually thanks to it not loading

Wrote some Christmas cards using the excellent value beautiful vintage cards I got earlier in the year, and included a long letter to my pen pal

Client has said to do work later in the week so that can wait while I try to get through the life admin list

Updated contact details for DKMS (stem cell donor matching service)

    Lidl receipt survey
    Coop receipt survey
    M&S receipt survey
    Tesco receipt survey
Somewhat tiresome but got to make the effort to win some money saving

Sent an email to the council asking if I could have any sort of letter saying I'm contributing to council tax at this address

Checked TightMove, finances and space available still tight

Walked to Lidl with Mr PIP to get another bottle of the bargain wine, and did some shop comparisons for stuffed pasta for dinner- weirdly Tesco Express the cheapest

Went to the quiet pub to catch up on our day and await the vet call, they'd said results would be Fri or Mon and they'd call us. It's Mon and Mr PIP had called at 4 to see what was occurring and they said they'd call after clinic at 7.
So we waited then Mr PIP called at 730 as we hadn't heard and we're obviously anxious to know what the situation is. No-one picked up so Mr PIP had to go on the website and send an enquiry, who knows when we'll hear. Very, very uncool, especially as we're with Park Vets who are more expensive but you think you're paying for reassuring guaranteed service. We should invoice them for the extra beer as we didn't want to risk walking back and not hearing the call but had to eventually.
They still haven't called. We will definitely be finding a different vets in as near future as possible

And Mum had been getting stressed with BT sending a new hub (BT's choice not hers) and the landline not working and the instructions being unclear. I said we'd try to sort it out when we got back (my mum gets even more upset at tech than me if such a thing is possible).
Instructions say unplug old hub. Not the simplest job with cramped conditions and dodgy joints but eventually done. It doesn't mention anywhere about the landline so had a minor temper tantrum about that until Mr PIP 'just' plugged it in. IT DIDN'T FIT WHEN I TRIED THE SAME THING.
It then said turn hub on and wait til it turns blue. At no point have they said what time this might take, I was envisaging a few mins max. I have now been sitting here with the hub flashing gaudy purple at me for over half an hour like I'm a runaway gay 16 year old boy from a tiny village who's found his way to a seedy club in Soho and doesn't know what to do next, other than get a migraine and have no bloody wifi on any devices.
None of the instructions offer any help.
We will not be getting BT if we ever get our own place

I told Mr PIP, who was trying to be supportive, to get on with cooking dinner and eat, I am far too cross and tired for such niceties

what a bloody frustrating day you've had.
even when you are fed up you still come up with such witty writing.  I love the BT hub and Soho club description!
I hope you get news from the vet early tomorrow.  You've already waited so long for the test results.

  • I think this time of year is v stressful and when you pile on vet bills, stress, worry and the council ..
you get a pass on moaning !

When you win the PB lottery please buy for our mse party  some of the Waitrose la gioiosa Prosecco both the rose fabulous ! or the Brut - v good for the price - they sometimes do them for £8 at 10.99 at mi

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Thanks Team Tuppence x

Woke up still grumpy and knackered. Was talking to Mr PIP about timings for my trip away for a couple of days and nearly cried because I didn't feel worthy of treating myself to a shop-bought sandwich for the journey back. Absolutely pathetic and really quite sad.
Think I've got pretending everything is fine burn-out. Must get a grip. Mustn't crumble when we're hopefully so near to the big life changing decision from council!
    Still no word from vets.

Too much to do to take a day off from doing but think today I will try to alternate Task, reading in bed, Task, reading in bed, etc.
Can't be getting on in life with this poor attitude and shoddy energy level!

Hope you all have fantastic Tuesdays, let's Get The Things Done and also Have A Nice Lie-Down 😁
  • Morning! And Team Tuppence - love it!

Was the Lidl wine bargain the one they had £1 off through the app last week? If so I took advantage of that one too, AND the prosecco as well.

Sending good vibes for both the council AND the vets to get their respective 'arrises into gear and and get back to you/MrPiP ASAP - after all the messing about you have ensured from the former it had just best be the right decision.

Oh - and buy the flipping sandwich for goodness sake. And make it a nice one!
