Well done on the collective PB wins 👏 Typical there’s a vet bill to put a damper on the celebrations 🙁

I would also be more than happy with a bit of cheese, wine and a book - what more could you want really.

  • Was all domestic goddessy and got up early to tidy the flat and have coffee ready for Mr PIP before he went off to work. Can't wait til we have our own place together, I so hope it happens
(As long as he doesn't expect me to be domestic goddessy every morning 😁)

Admin, comps, coop receipt survey, small bit of work, relisted a few things on FB and Olio and did the daily Gumtree comp

Did the initial registration for Dr surgery, hopefully that won't turn into a palaver

Surprised myself by attempting situps, only half of my already wussy efforts but better than nothing

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 2k and a laptop but my real heart's desire is a cheese hamper

Had a decent walk going to get my vitamins from the cheapest place that does them, then popped into Poundland, found them cheaper, and went back to Savers to reclaim my 19p difference!

Went to Lidl and got a bottle of the bargainous wine and used a coupon to get 15% off stuffed pasta. Much as I miss Mr PIP when we're not together, it is an excellent opportunity to eat mushroom products as I love them and he can't bear them

And en route got mum's watch fixed which has been a general household to-do for months

Then safe in the knowledge that dinner had been acquired and would take no more than ten minutes to make, I treated myself to a couple of beers in one of our local pubs that does Camra discount- I still have some cash in my purse so not coming out of budget.
Not entirely money saving, but absolutely blissful sitting in solitude in the pub garden under the heaters with fairy lights draped about and the rain coming down

The rest of today will be bits and bobs of admin and household doings, making me and mum dinner, and an earlyish night as I'm in charge of any workmen who may or may not show up at any time from 730am tomorrow. Mr PIP back with the cats so I'll have to be domestic goddessy for myself 😊

It would be lovely for you & Mr PiP to be able to get a place together. If this begins to look as though it could be on the cards, we will all be joining together to send positive vibes. I don't know what the collective noun would be for a determined group of assorted money savers, but there defo ought to be one!

Love it! Think that should defo be the new collective noun.. Yes, all those small savings do add up. When I was co-ordinating the great debt pay-down, & later making overpayments to a planned loan, I used to via in any little savings - from surveys, vouchers, bagging up the coppers jar, craft side hustles. I could do with applying the same mindset now to saving. I'm not bad, but could definitely step it up a notch or two. Whether it's a debt coming down a few years back, or savings creeping up, I find it motivating when a figure suddenly starts with a different number.
I remember there was an MSE diary bod on here years ago who used to say the best place for finding coins was under those cash machines in supermarket foyers. Her small son used to get on his knees to have a look & would find money people presumably cba to pick up! My best place used to be Sains*'s car parks.....various branches, but always 5p pieces!

Well that is decided then! Consider me a proud member of Team Tuppence.

You have done so amazingly with your journey @foxgloves. Obviously it's always good to keep an eye on what you can step up on but I think what's so lovely about your diary is that you seem safe and content, and that's the real mse goal isn't it rather than counting how many pounds are in the bank

Found money is great, not only is it free money but you get to make a wish on it too!

  • Disrupted night's sleep due to period pains and period tummy so did not have the getting up early and refreshed to smash Friday start I'd hoped for. Today is going to have to be a bare minimum and trying to recover day. Serves me right for thinking I'd got away relatively lightly with period trauma this month, I feel dreadful!

So today's try to do list:
    Wash and tidy
    Comping and admin
    Possibly workmen
Walk, preferably to get Lidl bargain wine
Use up food that needs using and make sure to include enough nutrition
    Maybe hear from vets

    Would be nice list:
Contact antique sellers re trench art
    List some Vinteds
    Laundry
    Small bit of work
