An in-between phase

Okay apparently the wall tiles we chose that very clearly look green in the picture aren't in fact in the slightest bit green so I had a small hissy fit and said we'll just have to sh*t in a hole in the ground in the tiny garden, in a privy made of scrap wood, since apparently we can't even get decent wood, then I attempted to sort my life out and found very similar design but long story short we're probably getting tiles.
We have to live there for three years anyway unless we win the lottery so I reckon that's perfect timing for needing to leave when the grouting gets too manky.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

The paint has peeled off some tiles around the window of my down stairs bathroom and revealed beautiful dark green tiles. The rest of the walls are covered in off white/marbled plastic sheets. I am more than a little tempted to pull them off in the hope that the Beautiful Green Tiles are everywhere underneath, but if they're damaged or missing I have no way of fixing them. And I have far more important DIY tasks to do.
But I have continued peeling off the paint and bought a little tin of green paint to do the bathroom cabinets with.
You did make me proper chortle at the hole in the ground though 😂Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25

We had dark grey grouting for the tiles so you can’t tell when it’s manky 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Ohhh that is so tempting @rachmac3. Obvs try to leave it until you've got the other diy jobs done, but I think we both know it is irresistible. Start from the least noticeable floor corner, easy enough to patch up and no-one will see it 😁
That thought did occur @Sun_Addict 😂 The rooms are so small though, I think dark grey would be too much, and I say that as a big fan of grey
I have attempted to find bathroom flooring and, direct quote from build whatsapp, I think my soul has exited my body.
Why is the thing that was meant to be nice to choose the worstest thing?!
I love bathrooms, I love interiors, I love design, how is it so awful trying to find basic things.
I'm not trying to recreate Marrakesh at the exact time Madonna stayed for half an hour in 1986, I just want a medium dark sandy creamy large tile effect floor in the bathroom 😭😭😭
(I have no idea if that was an accurate analogy)https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Interesting …. That was exactly the colour effect I was struggling to find for my bathroom…
It’s why I keep telling everyone that it’s NOT beige! 🙄😂😂

Oh no @KajiKita, are we dreamers of the impossible bathroom dream?! 😂
I (we) have chosen a luxurious looking brown quasi marble for the shower, as we've opted for smaller shower space to have more bathroom space, and I thought splashes of opulence where possible would be pleasingly classy but not imposing.
Then I've (we've- I'm just going to continue while I inevitability complain about this at length, to say 'I' but I promise I'm getting Mr PIP's input and agreement too 😂) gone for large medium-light green tiles for the rest of the bathroom walls.
It's currently giving Scottish manor vibes and I need a floor that fits with that without being too dark and making it seem even smaller, but that also gives good flow between the dark brown and medium light green tones.
There's not a window in there so need to be really aware of what provide the right effect. I love a herringbone wooden style but think it will look too busy in this space. Also love a black or blue and white tile effect on bathroom floors but that will not go with this look. Don't want to go too dark or knotty what with small space but too light a wood design would look odd.
Will continue tomorrow seeking out the flooring I have in mind and if I can't find it, I guess go for a medium wood colour design and pattern!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
