Few little bits off the to-do list but am knackered with an early start tomorrow so I think heating leftover veggie lasagne is going to be the extent of my productivity this evening!

I could also do with trying to motivate myself to return to occasional Bay of E activity. I find it so time-consuming & inevitably start wondering if it is worth the hassle for low-value items, although I know everything adds up.

I'm trying to make myself come round to the idea @foxgloves but I find their listings process horribly unintuitive, I'm awful at working out if their automated postage suggestions are actually fit for use, and I'm still slightly sulking that they refunded buyer for item not turning up when I'd done everything ebay said.
I mean, I would have refunded buyer but I resent ebay saying 'upload your tracking info', providing the tracking info for me to enter, then saying the reason they gave a full refund (and then charged me for the postage!) was because I didn't provide the tracking info. Actually, thanks for making me have this recap as it turns out I still really hate them and can stop bothering thinking about using them again 😂

That is a good story and well done that chap for his response 😂 @Sun_Addict
(Wait, was it Mr SA and that's how you ended up together? 😁)
No it was a few years pre Mr SA. I met Mr SA in a nightclub in the early 80s. Shamefully I was engaged to someone else at the time but we won’t talk about that 😬 He had a perfect 80s long blonde fringe over one eye look as in my then heartthrobs David Sylvian of Japan and John Taylor of Duran Duran and I was hooked. Ironically he doesn’t have any hair now 🤣
With you on the then heartthrobs,

Well done on the perfume .. the cricket bat set sounds fun
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    Good morning,

I have spent several days catching up on the posts. About 240 of them as I have been busy/away/gardening/asleep or just generally mooching (with tea and cake interludes) and failing to keep abreast of important matters such as ‘Life and Times of The PiPs’.

Thoroughly enjoyed the catch up and insights. I’m about to embark on some catch up comments so please feel free to skip to the end where I say goodbye. I shall not be offended (not least because I wont know 😂)

On the subject of furry lodger - have you tried offering it cayenne pepper or peppermint oil? Apparently they hate the smell of both and it puts them off returning. If anyone has a tip on how to stop a rat using my garden like the M25 I’d be happy to hear it. (Not to mention the huge grass snake that has eaten the newts in my pond!)

On the subject of dentists - Nightmare! Poor Mr PiP.😔  I’m lucky enough to be on an NHS dentist that does 6 monthly check up which I attend all of so they don’t chuck me off the list. A friend’s partner flies to Budapest for his dentist as it’s cheaper and quicker. Crazy days.

On the subject of competition wins - Blimey! Just Blimey! how do you do it? It must be like living by a real life conveyor belt on the Generation Game. Prize after prize. Not sure I’ve seen the cuddly toy yet but correct me if I’m wrong! Congratulations 🏆

On the subject of house builds - Keep at it, it’ll happen. Do you think Ms Reeves could include you in her £39bn housing boost plans? It’s not like you’d use all of it up just on your place.

On the subject of veggie lasagne - Best recipe ever is on the Bold Beans website called Red Bean Lasagne. Absolutely delicious!😋 Best I have ever tasted. Make sure to chop the carrots, mushrooms etc very small as it just works better than larger chunks.

On the subject of access to one’s rightful garden space - Is the fence low enough to vault? Can you use bolt cutters? Can you grow a beanstalk in the style of Jack? Tunnel and drop the removed soil out of trouser bottoms on the way to the pub?

On the subject of ‘Life of PiP’ complacency - I shall attempt to do better and read regularly.

On the subject of skipping my post to the end - Congratulations! You made it. Goodbye. 👋

On the Land Reg thing - if it is an application that they are just being slow about, check whether it can be expedited, most applications can, and you can do it via their "contact us" form. ;-)

Hi @Slowdown when you read this in a months time 😁

Avoiding peppermint as apparently spiders hate it and my house spiders haven't done anything wrong!
Also trying not to have to lose any more money over the blimmin thing (*seethes about creme eggs*).

Absolutely crazy about dentistry. Fortunately Mr PIP feeling much better after course of antibiotics so we shall keep our fingers crossed for a speedy (ha!) and relatively cheap (ha and ha again!) resolution

Aw thanks, comp wins are only a tin of cakes and a park cricket set lately but always grateful for good luck. Most credit to the wonderful competitions section of this website and all the people there who post opportunities

Please touch wood about it not taking 39bn for the build 😂

Will check out the lasagne recommendation, thanks. Mr PIP doesn't like mushrooms but I do!

I hope you're sitting down- we got keys to the garden today and they work! Though we'll see how long it is until they change the lock again for absolutely no reason...

Cheers @EssexHebridean, we will be able to expedite it when we have mortgage offer but lender won't do formal offer until land is split, and new solicitor is a b*llend who flies off the handle if we ask for clarification on something we don't understand. We are hoping for initial progress on land split in a couple of weeks

    Invigilating

Extended walk to get vitamins on 3for2

25 minute walk getting essentials, found two books

    Half wussy situps

Contractors didn't show up AGAIN re skirting boards for mouse protection. Had a somewhat terse conversation on the telephone (okay, I lost my rag and hung up on them. But they have cost us eight working hours of waiting for them to not show up and we have been begging them to do the job pest control said they needed to do months ago, and now they're saying we have to start the whole request process again as the appointment 'is now in the past'. I bloody know it's in the past, I was waiting here during it!)

But we did get keys to the garden so hopefully they'll deign to let us use the space we pay for, for a little while at least

Entered some competitions, pleeeeease can we win some cash

Lots of little bits off to-do list

Perfume verdict is it's nice but I probably won't wear it as it doesn't have similar tonal vibes to the perfumes I wear on rotation that I have already attached emotional meaning to. Gorgeous bottle though!

Dinner is egg, chip n beans, as befits the owner of a £126 perfume 😁

I have hjust checked the price of my favourite eau de toilette (most smell awful on me) and the cheapest I could find was £97.60 with the reccomended price of £122. I rarely wear it for this reason and the bottle is many years old.

Yay to the keys to the garden.
try and keep the beans away from the egg - you are a person with expensive perfume, you should not let beans and eggs mingle inappropriately.
