Iceland's Good Housekeeping approved loo roll really is an excellent buy, especially as so many other loo rolls are shockingly poor quality.

They are really fab.  Used for years.

  • Aren't they just @beanielou I've also used them for years but with the cost of living shooting up, they really are stand out superior. I don't buy much from Iceland but will make a special trip for their loo roll!

I can highly recommend the Little  🦆 loo rolls too. I’m very fussy about loo rolls 😆

A good idea is to win the voucher and spend some of it on the F&M hamper.  That will test how much you really want the hamper.
The best idea though is to win the omaze house and ask for the hamper as a house warming gift from your new neighbours.

  • Well up not bright but horribly early this Sunday after being woken up four times during the night by upstairs. Was trying to ignore it as going back to mum's today but eventually just really needed some more sleep so knocked upstairs, was ushered in by the older lady who lives there who denied it could possibly be her or her flat waking us up, then demonstrated to clipclop across the hard floor with her hard soled slippers on, before denying it was at all possible it could be heard by us again. She's got me there, it was completely a lucky guess because I love dragging myself into the cold, sleep deprived with period pains, to make myself feel like a great person by arguing with 90 year olds 😔

So not the best start and of course I'm wide awake now despite feeling like utter cr*p physically and morally. I guess I'd better make the most of the day and do some niggling tasks so at least something productive comes of it
  • Managed to salvage some productivity and thus self worth from the day;

    Entered the Waterstones wishlist competition

Did admin including various receipt surveys

Tried another method of accessing the HMRC CoA link. It didnt work. There was however a link to report this page not working so I rather huffily and pompously filled in the report expecting it to be an automated waste of time but received a 'someone will review your issue within two days' response. Sorry for being a bit of a **** actual HMRC person

    Did tidying and washing up

    Did a small client job

Took advantage of an offer to receive a Beer52 pack of eight mixed cans for just the postage of £6.95 (with a couple of small snacks and a beer magazine included). They'll definitely get used and won't go off anytime soon so that's a bargain as long as one remembers to cancel the subscription

Then on clicking through there was an offer for three bottles of wine for £12 inclusive which is even more bargainous (and I do trust the brand to provide good quality beer and wine) so had a spend on that and have noted in my diary to cancel them both before next automatic payment

Made good use of leftovers for f&v portions and preventing food and money waste

Mr PIP was able to make use of that annoying amazon deal that only lets you get amazon sold & distributed items. We needed new toothbrush heads and lo and behold the brand we wanted with the best deal fit the criteria. Interestingly, it wasn't showing up on the usually helpful Trolley website so will make a point of doing extra, extra research for best prices in future

Back at mums with Sunday not-peak fare, and dreading the housing association huge works starting later this week for 2-3 weeks but we shall manage.

I am absolutely exhausted. Hope you're all looking forward to your Mondays, and if not, there's always the MSE diaries to work out how to proceed with changing that, or at least coping! x

When I sign up for anything that needs cancelling before payment is taken I always cancel as soon as whatever I've ordered first arrives so I don't get caught out!  Things like the 3 magazines for a fiver - once the first magazine arrives I cancel the DD.  Certainly saves forgetting as it's easier to remember to do it when there is something physical involved.
  • Thanks for the emphatic understanding @EssexHebridean 😁 I feel really bad grumping at an old lady but we need to sleep, it's a human requirement! She is completely compos mentis btw, and tried to throw us under the bus to ourselves, she was like 'well it must be downstairs making the noise' and I said 'We ARE downstairs!' Not walking on my own bloody ceiling in hard soled footwear in the middle of the night am I. And she swore at me, and I didn't once swear even conversationally at her, even though I was very sleep deprived and am a very sweary person! Still feel like a b!!ch though, much as I like a rant I am really not someone who gets off on drama or being mean. But I need to sleeeeep 😭
  • Anyhoo, Monday's mse doings:

Dragged myself out of bed for the start of the working day though I could happily have slept for many more hours

    Usual admin and household tasks

Mr PIP picked up some Olio bread yesterday and got given a few bonus Pret items so had a free brunch that was healthyish

Did the hoovering, recycling bins, and laundry

    Had a client call

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning some Rothschild wines

Steps and decent value essentials in from Aldi

Also popped into the library as got an email saying I needed to renew my membership, woman there said I could renew for longer if I provided proof of address on paper. Even if I had a stable address, I don't have anything on paper, on account of it not being 1990 (and this from a belligerent technophobe!)

Mum had a new fridge freezer delivered last week and chucked out her dustpan and brush as they'd just got too manky. I had my hands on a set in the shop when I suddenly thought 'I'm sure I've got a dustpan and brush tucked away in a box' so went back and rummaged and hooray, a definite shopping from home win!

Transferred money to mum for family Christmas gifts

Updated some Vinteds and put a couple more bits on there

Trying to decide when to go back to Mr PIPs to avoid the housing association works starting later this week at mums, and how long to stay at mums to avoid Mrs Clattershoes at Mr PIPs. Do you know what I could do with, a blimmin decision from the council about the build. Also for everyone to just stop doing loud things!
