Oh PiP what lovely things to have from your Dad though, even if you aren't able to access the stories behind them. I can imagine you absolutely will treasure them, but yes, I can also understand your slightly mixed feelings with the sadness as well.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks @EssexHebridean I'm not sure whether to treasure them or sell them! They are lovely things but they also make me a bit sad. Shall ponder.

Ugh, the dreaded period has arrived and I do not feel at my best (somewhat of an understatement)
But today's mse things:
Usual admin and household tasks
An opiniumium survey that actually worked
Sainso receipt survey
Very odd panelb survey about self-driving ride-sharing cars written by an illiterate American with extremely leading questions and absolutely no thought for safety, especially womens
Entered some competitions- today I'm mostly looking forward to winning two thousand pounds
The HMRC link to register a change of address still isn't working 🙄
Mr PIP is insisting on getting us a proper greasy take-away pizza for dinner and I am not objecting!

Well we turned out going posher than planned and got pizza express as it was cheaper- and cheaper still to order through their website rather than their app as their own app still had an uber eats additional charge, so that's worth remembering for future
Happy Friday everyone, a dreadful effort at being a domestic goddess from me today.
The two Big Jobs were give the various cat bowls and timer feeders a good clean. This turned out to be a far more awkward task than anticipated so only got halfway through as my wrists and fingers thoroughly objected.
My poor joints were already unimpressed at (Big Job 2) me deciding there wasn't enough laundry to justify a washing machine go, and hand washing then regularly wringing out some knickers and socks. Of course with my instinctive understanding of domestic goddessing, I chose the most awkward items that would retain the most water.
But I did manage to successfully do a fair bit of admin, a couple of COAs (not HMRC obviously, far too foolish to expect the essential backbone of our country's economy to be able to do the most basic tasks), and finished a paid job
Mum did a good online order from Sainso for chocolate tubs for family (after I'd checked the Trolley website) and Baileys for us for the Christmas period and a bottle for a family gift so have noted I owe her half of that. £10 with nectar card for a litre bottle of Baileys at Sainsers at the moment if anyone else needs to stock up!
Parted with a tenner to enter the latest Omaze competition, very telling of how hard it is to be working class with no property in the family and have a chronic pain condition in London, that (though it looks nice) it's evidently 'cosy' even with fancy pictures and they're super proud of having the outside space of a patio, for five million pounds. *Sticks fingers in ears, la la la, I can't hear anyone saying me having my own home is an absolute joke, LA LA LA* 😂😭
Had a nice brief lunchtime walk with one of my best friends, she's accepted an offer on her house after a viewing this week so very pleased for her and her fella, and lovely to know that things are still happening in people's property lives, even if not for us!
Walked up to the high street, got Sainso own brand coffee but no lottery ticket as their machine wasn't working- I wished them well with that on a Friday night with a £56 million jackpot!
Have treated myself to a couple of pints in the pub (Iron Pier green hop) while I make a start on the free paper crossword, while waiting for Mr PIP to get back from work and after work beers. It's my turn for treating us to fancier than usual dinner this evening with that bit of premium bonds money, he's bought it as he has a bigger shop near work so will transfer the amount to him this weekend. We already have own brand salad leaves and garlic bread in the fridge so didn't go too mad. If there's enough change for another treat dinner I'll get that too, soon, and if not, any change will go in the flat pot. And Mr PIP managed to get a big jackpot lottery ticket on his way back!
Hope all my mse lovelies are having an excellent Friday with lots of things to enjoy/achieve this weekend. Does anyone know what 32 Across is?! 😁

There is a dishwasher at Mr PIPs @beanielou but I don't feel we generate enough washing up to justify it, cost-wise or environmentally.
We have admittedly not sat down and done the proper sums as we have a million more pressing life things to pursue, and one of my best friends who is also a two person household who is very knowledgeable about this sort of thing says it isn't environmentally worse, but I have a real aversion to using something when I'm not making the most of it running. Different households have different needs and preferences of course, in Mr PIP's rented flat the gas and leccy have to be topped up payment by payment because we're working class plebs who can't be trusted with paying bills obvs ☺0 -
I belief that the reseach shows it's better finacialy & eviromentally.
The pre payment thing winds me up so much as people have to pay moreI am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I’ve also read that it’s better for the environment and finances to use the dishwasher but if you don’t have many pots to wash I can see how you can’t justify using it. We only have a small dishwasher and I end up hand washing the larger and more delicate items.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Feeling fairly dreadful so not a hive of activity today but did a few surveys
Entered some competitions, today it would be most financially helpful to win a £250 lovetoshop voucher but I am secretly hankering after the Fortnum and Mason Christmas hamper
Cat bowls deep clean done but we've been unable to fix the microchip sensor on one which really needs to be operational for both the cats health. Looking at £140 quid for a replacement which we could really do without as a random spend but blimmin cats wellbeing has to come first!
Managed a walk up the high street for a bit of exercise (okay, I was bribed with the prospect of a pint (Castle Rock Harvest 3.8%)) and we did some good shop-hopping for best prices. Iceland's Good Housekeeping approved loo roll really is an excellent buy, especially as so many other loo rolls are shockingly poor quality and not hugely cheaper. Bad toilet paper really makes me cross 😂
Cracked and bought another lip balm even though there's still loads left in the one on the go- it is such rubbish quality and the 20p saving was not worth it. It is too cold for ineffective lip balm
Dinner is the rest of the premium bonds allocated money treat of an M&S two person stuffed pasta and creamy tomato sauce (also a portion of f&v) with a much less expensive garlic bread from Sainso
