Great news on the invigilator role!
I hope it's a solitary mouse in the house and that it quickly trundles into the humane trap and can be relocated elsewhere.

My mouse mates enjoy crackers with peanut butter in the humane trap. Last time though my mind must have wandered as I peanut buttered the crackers and then ate them. 🤦‍♀️
Fortunately I had enough left for the little critters and they had a feast. Drove into the forest to let them go and I’m sure they were grateful as the waved and squeaked.

Good for you on the exam invigilator front. I was a teacher for many years so the very idea of being in a school now I’m retired gives me PTSD so I won’t be signing up.

Keep on keeping on with the house. It will be alright in the end. And if it’s not alright, it’s not the end.

Could you apply to staff a local polling station for elections, PiP, or would the hours be a problem for you? I've never done it, but I know 3 people who have, & all of them went back & did it at subsequent elections. Vote counters on election night also used to be a thing, & probably still is. I'd probably be terrible at the latter.....I'd have to keep recounting in case I'd made an error!

Thanks @Sallyforth, I haven't done it before so we'll see what I'm asked to do, there likely won't be any slots this spring/summer but might as well get the training and checks done

Oh gawd @dreaming we cannot afford a new fridgefreezer. Hope your mouse takes the bait soon!

    Cheers @Blackcats

Thanks @Slowdown, Mr PIP is pleased to have been able to justify buying the pricier peanut butter he likes at least 😁

I enquired yonks ago but I'll enquire again @foxgloves, thanks for the reminder. Definitely not counting though, I'd be scared of thwarting democracy!

No mouse updates, traps empty and peanut butter untouched. Hoping the strong scents I put down have convinced it to go elsewhere on a permanent basis. Pray for Pip it's not eating my freezer 😭

Well done on the prize, hope you receive it.

I’ve been an invigilator at work before for trainees, voluntary though. It will be great if you can get some paid work out of it.

    Enjoy your chips 🍟

The invigilator role sounds promising and as you say it is walkable, and not too many hours.

Mouse rustlings again last night in kitchen.
We've pulled out and tipped back fridgefreezer and mouse has been eating the insulation. So we've had to turn it off in case of fire and now I am extremely stressed about having to replace all our food and not having a working fridgefreezer and having to find money to buy another one.
Which is pointless until we can be fairly confident mouse has gone.
Which isn't going to happen until housing association deign to come round, as we discovered there's a missing skirting board behind the fridgefreezer! And we can't do anything permanent (i.e. effective) about it without housing association permission and they have been asked to come round three times now. And there's still a f*cking mouse running round our home (I'm still praying it's just one).
I really did not need this in the same week we found out surveyor has for no reason just been lying about council consents being sorted.

    Anyhoo.

25 minute walk getting bits and getting our lucky dip lottery win. Pleeeeeease can we win the lottery bigly

Was going to make a wholesome batch cooking dinner but we'll be eating whatever random thing looks saddest coming out of the freezer
    (Not mouse)

I have gone to the pub.

Oh no @PennysIntoPounds, I'm sorry you have a mouse with the same food preferences as I do. I now have 3 traps set with a variety of crackers & peanut butter, and chocolate. If the mouse doesn't go for them I might be tempted myself. Enjoy the pub - it's not an option for me as I don't live close enough to one to walk there so have one for me please.
