Dratted mouse(ees) - could be worse (ratties) but not good. Any chance you could borrow a cat for a few days? One you can’t keep. I can honestly say we’ve never seen a mouse here yet we know (non cat owning) neighbours have had issues.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

Naughty mouse. It needs to get itself into one of your traps asap.
Pub sounds like a very good idea.1 -
Sorry the mice situation isn't resolved. (I remember how impossible it is to settle when there are mice)
Pub is an excellent idea.

Thanks @redofromstart 🍻
I have absolutely had one for you @dreaming. Why do mice eat freezers 😭 Also why do you not live within walking distance of a pub, do you have a diary aiming to rectify this shocking situation?! 😁
Don't have any cats we could borrow @Sallyforth. That's interesting about you and neighbours, t'internet research says they're not in reality very effective but I guess it depends on each individual cats temperament etc
I really don't want to go the nasty route @Blackcats so I hope it'll get in the humane trap tonight, it ignored it last night. A mate was recommending a company that gives veterans jobs using their skills to hunt down mice and secure the area which sounds amazing but out of the budget!
@doingitanyway I wouldn't mind if it was minding it's business in the walls but appearing at midnight in the bedroom, and eating the effing freezer is just too much2 -
We had a mouse that caused the metal edging on our freezer to become live. Unfortunatly my dd found it when she was about five. Ouch!2

Blackcats said:@doingitanyway - lots of us turn up at PIP's without calling ahead 🥳. Last week a mouse arrived unannounced mid way through yoga 🐁. Just to clarify it was PIP doing yoga not the mouse!
hopefully it will catch itself in your trap soon

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I’m sorry to hear the mouse is still evading capture. It’s awful how much damage such small creatures can do. If I lived closer I’d bring my Jack Russell round to sort it out although it wouldn’t be humane unfortunately. With her and 2 cats mice and rats don’t bother us thankfully. When we first got the dog the cat used to catch mice and give them to the dog to dispatch 😬
Anyway I hope you can catch it and release it a fair distance away so it doesn’t come back.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Cheers @LadyWithAPlan @KajiKita @Sun_Addict
No further mouse activity. Since it hasn't gone for the traps I'm going to put newspaper covered in cleaning product by the wall gap in the hope of deterring it from returning.
Didn't want to put it off getting in the traps, and didn't want to put chemical stuff near potentially dodgy freezer but since freezer is off and it's ignoring traps that is my next step3
