What a misty, mizzly day! The mse highlights:

    Usuals
    Small bit of spec work

Hour walk cashing in coins, so that should be £6 in flat pot tomorrow. Had to put in another 6p as both bags were 'one coin short' according to the bank's scales. Mmmhmm. Found 5p on the street though

Went through rejected ziffits, got another quid in the basket and cashed out. Have to wait for their 8-5 collection tomorrow 🙄

£5 am*zon voucher received for a small online study

Family friend called the octopods to get our names on bill for proof of address

Looking forward to hunkering down with a big pile of tomato-y, cheesy spaghetti and a glass of red wine!

    Usuals
    Ziffit collected
    Walk to aldo for essentials

Lunch of leftover sarnies Mr PIP brought back from a work meeting
Bits and bobs off the to-do list

Complained to bank about the 6p 😂
I didn't even want to complain, just give them a heads up, but it seems you have to so they can look into it.
There's folk worse off than me who shouldn't be made more vulnerable, and folk better off than me putting in larger amounts, and it just didn't sit right with me for a financial institution to be taking extra money off people when it seems very likely *their* scales aren't working properly

Going over to mums for dinner tonight, we're having cheesy leek and potato hotpot, hooray

Their scales are supposed to be regularly calibrated so I do hope they aren't saving money on a requirement.  So too I believe are the "coinmaster" machines.  I was told that was why the ones round here were closed in 2020.  Not that I would use them as all my change goes is self service tills.

Who knows @badmemory, as I say, I wasn't even getting lairy (on this occasion 😁) but seems somewhat odd that both bags of different denominations were a coin short, when I checked both of them twice, and was counting the coins in two's!

Have now done three receipt surveys, and email inboxes tidies, and Mr PIP has got several loaves of free posh bread from olio, so we're feeling like we've definitely earnt a nice evening. Only about 40 receipt surveys to go 😂

It could even be something as simple as the scales have been knocked or moved and aren’t quite level any more. You will see that they have little spirit levels integrated into them, usually at the front by the button panel.

    Am I a metrology geek?! 😂

That is odd about the supposed shortfall in both bags of money.  Well done for pointing it out to them.

Well done for challenging the bank. I’ve given up with Ziffit they never want my books despite most of them being new titles.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Feeling a bit grumpy today, think it stems from a friend asking me to meet for coffee on Monday and the cost of two tube fares and a couple of coffees seeming like a big amount of money. I really hate being poor. Then bank sent an email saying they'd be calling me this afternoon despite asking what my preference is and me saying email. I hate phone calls and I have nothing more to say on the matter, I literally just wanted to tell them to check their scales, not get involved in some lengthy drama. Went on live chat to tell them not to call me, who knows if that will work but I won't be answering the phone!

25 min walk getting cheese and salad for our Fredagsmys dinner. Aldi only had pricier brie and I resent being forced to spend more because they'd taken their normal one away for their promotion, so went tesco where it was even more expensive but then sainsers had Presidènt on offer for much cheaper so was pleased with bothering to look around

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 75k (please please please)

Had enough money in cash to go pub so went pub and sat in blissful silence doing crossword

How are you finding brie at present.  I have been quite disappointed.  Have you ever had a brie that was crumbly?!!  I am sure it must have been frozen & dehydrated in the process.  I usually leave it out of the fridge for a couple of days so that it is ripe, but that one was going nowhere.
