Well I’ve been awol a few days so a bit to catch up on.
Sorry to hear of your wakeful nights PiP. Your advice to me was sound and whilst I didn’t pay for building cracks advice it did prompt me to try harder to find out what is going on with insurers. Looks like they are far behind with the claims as they’ve been inundated. Now it’s started raining again I’m not worried it will get worse. My main concern is the gaps it’s caused in windows and doors letting the cold air through over the winter. We live in a cold house (fab in the summer) so it’s not going to help.
Can’t give much advice on the sports bra front but my DD goes to Bravissimo. It’s a bit pricey but excellent fit.
And on to the stockpiling. It’s funny but we have our ‘Brexit’ supplies. We started a collection of tins, bottles, packets etc before leaving the EU as we thought prices would rocket and supply chains disrupted. Obviously it’s not the same food but we’ve kept it up and still call it the Brexit supplies. But then we still call it the poll tax so..🤷♀️
Have a great weekend everyone and some sound sleep PiP. 🥰

I always keep £200 cash in Bank of England notes in case there’s a gb based family emergency as some places on the mainland are sniffy about NI notes

Sometimes I think politicians think they are playing videogames instead of running a country.

I always keep a bit of cash around, just in case. I also get a load of £1 coins from the machines when I take the kids bowling so I've always got some change. It's useful for boot sales, and events at school etc, so I'm in the habit of having it. Similarly have more than one bank account so you have a backup if one goes down.
We generally have a decent stockpile of food, and the other stuff, but we don't tend to keep water. It's a bit of a mental block for me on that one as I don't tend to buy bottled water, and feel it's wasteful. Plus I don't know where we would keep it! I would hope that we could use the water butts for flushing the loo etc.

I always keep a stock of food just in case, family thought I was mad but when Covid hit, I didn’t have to worry or queue like most people did.

Well I've transferred £100 to get out in cash and got a couple of extra cupboard stocks in but still need to get the vast majority of things on that list. I really hope the govt has done a proper cost-benefit analysis on this announcement as I will have to spend a lot less in pubs and on non essentials and on gifts for others and treats for us etc etc etc for the next few months.
Lordy please let some competent adults have worked on this policy, not really worth it to have no economy and no community places just so everyone has a tin of carrots and a bag of sultanas, some wasteful plastic bottles of water, and some cash they won't be able to use.
