Oooh, freezer defrosting - don’t forget a goodly application of a hairdryer can be very helpful 😉

Yes, those bookselling apps get very shouty at you don’t they … 🙄 I have a huge heap to work through but I keep putting it off because of that … 😉

Well done on steeling yourself for the walk to aldi and Mr PiP for completing his tax return 👏 Maybenthe chancellor will owe him something? 😊

I may be wrong but I think post office branches allow you to deposit bags of change in your bank account?

I was just going to suggest the PO, but @KajiKita beat me to it. I have defo paid in bags of change at our nearest branch.....well, not our nearest, but I don't use our village one after the member of staff in charge outdid even her usual level of snotty rudeness.
They like coins bagged up correctly for weighing but my experience is that they do take them.

Shoulder is good thanks @PennysIntoPounds. Just trying to not do anything much for a few days. Though I fell earlier and it’s the strain on the shoulders of getting up. Thanks for asking.

I’ve started using loose change at supermarket self checkouts. Just feed them in when paying for a banana or similar.

same here Sallyforth, but with the self serve machines in MrM you can pay part in cash, and then the balance by card so I use the change however much it is.

Sorry to hijack but on this topic I buy supermarket gift cards (and MrM is a regular) from either TCB or Airtime Rewards thus saving up to 4% on shopping. You can buy for as little as £5. So sometimes, for example, I’ll take advantage of a TCB offer to spend £5 and get £2 bonus by buying a £5 MrM gift card. It’s also a good way of splitting a £20 note.

It has fortunately not got to hairdryer levels @KajiKita, off overnight with a towel under should be okay- probably famous last words!
Thanks and to @foxgloves for the PO heads up, will try that. Foxgloves, as @rtandon27 said on your diary, you are so Scheherazade 😂 Yes please to the telling of the tale of What Occurred in the Village Post Office

Nothing too worrying this time @lucielle, there was one tub so frosted it took a while to work out, but once the outer ice had gone it was evidently a portion of veggie cottage pie, phew

Glad the shoulder is feeling strong enough to help you out when gravity bunks off for its tea break @beanielou. Do rest up and don't make any daft frustrated movement or balance decisions, says she who has never yet been capable of such!

Good ideas @Sallyforth and @redofromstart, I think you can do the same in sainsers redo, must remember more often. Hijack away Sallyforth, all input welcome here!
Though it will please me greatly turning our collected change into £6 in the flat pot, easily pleased 😁

Um @Sun_Addict we have started watching Masked Singer and it is all your fault, as is my crush on Wolf, and how embarrassing it's going to be when it turns out to be someone cringe 🤣

🤣🤣 crush on Wolf 🤣🤣 My friend reckons it's Marty Pellow having originally thought it might be Bono. A few years ago one of the masked singers was Morten Harket from Aha and there was a collective swooning of ladies of a certain age when he removed his mask as he'd definitely worn well 😍
