What a fantastic boost. Hopefully that will take a little pressure off - when the council pull their fingers out.

So sorry for the loss of your friend but how wonderfully generous of them, their partner and your Mum.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family1 -
Thanks all 😊
Alas it doesn't take pressure off us @badmemory, we're still entirely limited time and dodgy council dependent
But only 75k to go to be able to afford a tiny flat, how hard can it be 😂🥂2 -
Usuals
Entered some competitions, will a hamper squeak its way into a win this year?! (Probably no)
Popped over to mums, who gave me a cleanser her friend sent that she's not using
An hour and a bit walk with Mr PIP putting cheque in bank and checking out bargains- nothing bargainous enough for me but Mr PIP got us some reduced confectionery
Picked up some leftover Christmas bits from olio, looking forward to our cheeses and quiches, and Mr PIP is looking forward to his Melton Mowbray pork pie

Lovely news about your mum gifting you the money, but just a little word of caution. Could it come straight from the person who was going to give it to your mum? I dont know how old you and your mum are, but there can be issues about giving money away for instance if there is the need for financial support from social services or payments from the DWP.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20223

Cheers @Sun_Addict, at the moment if building doesn't start early spring we won't be able to afford to do it anymore so fingers crossed everyone involved accidentally does their effing job!
Thank you for raising that @Karonher, mum spoke to a chap at the bank who said it shouldn't be an issue as there's a clear and quick trail of the intention of the money, and as she doesn't have assets like a property or equivalent investments she wouldn't be seen as trying to give cash away to come under a lower care/inheritance band3 -
Lovely news/gift. So generous and kind. Often inheritance gifts seem to bring out the worst in people so a joy to read this one has been given and received with love.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2
