Let me know how it goes @WelshmansDaughter, we have the ready made ones as they're part of a sainsers meal deal and they are well good, but would be handy to make our own in the future too. Can't imagine it's too tricky (as long as you do all the investigative work first 😁)0

Btw, Aldi wine of the week is a red at 9.99 reduced from 17.99, I presume its the same in most aldi stores, if anyone is looking for a posh red for a Christmas gift. Mr PIP bought one for his parents, and we were very good and decided we probably didn't need to sample one ourselves to make sure it was acceptable!

Those of you saying your christmas cakes go off are clearly making the wrong sort of cake - we habitually finish up the previous year's (enormous!) one in the run up the the following christmas! The trick I believe is plenty of rum...

I have never known Christmas cake to go off, I try to stretch ours to May if I can, often it is all eaten before the end of March 😢
I enjoy both marzipan and the royal icing, but I do try to keep the amount of icing I eat small and I would happily have the Christmas cake decorated without icing but my OH insists.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Bit of a rubbish day.
Dragged myself out of bed after nearly 12 hours sleep.

25 minute walk voting, getting dental check up, getting flu jab
Then dentists called and said check up isn't covered and I have to pay, despite dentist telling me it was covered under band 2 treatment within three months. I did not have the energy to deal with this today and will go in tomorrow.
Looked it up and it's only two months that's covered. So technically they're right but technically I've been mugged off.
Specifically booked it for now to be within the period I was told. Wouldn't have booked it if I had to pay.
So now I have to find £26.80 through no fault of my own.
So tired of everything always being sh*t.
It's never 'here's lots of nice news' or even 'everything's going well and as should be', just constant 'here's another thing to be miserable/anxious/angry/skint about'.
I am not a happy Pip.

You do seem to get more than your fair share of medical/council related assorted carp 🙁 Hopefully things will get better from now onwards 🙏I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Urgh something in the air with dentists. I've paid £26.80 twice in the last few weeks for them to basically tap my tooth and say does that hurt? Then give me a course of antibiotics both times 🙄*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300
